Review: Palmer's Shimmer Radiance Body Gloss and Body Oil

 

It feels a little ironic to be writing this post on the day I fly off to a city that is currently so cold that it's snowing, and I'll be barely showing any skin at all over the next week, but it is nice knowing that my skin will be looking Summer ready the moment I step off that plane onto home ground in 7 days! This is the drop that I have been waiting for, that I didn't even know that I was waiting for, and that's the Palmer's Shimmer Radiance Body Gloss and Body Oil!

 

This has literally combined three of my favorites - Palmer's, body oil and shimmer, and right at the start of Summer. How can you possibly not be excited about this! I'm absolutely brimming with joy (tis the season!) and bursting to tell you about them! The Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Shimmer Radiance Body Oil is said to be a nourishing boy oil that will leave your skin with a golden highlight, so that it looks luminous, radiant and healthy. 

 

To use it, shake the bottle so that the shimmer gets distributed evenly throughout the oil, then apply it to the skin. This has a good pump on it, and I find that I need about 6 pumps to fully cover my body without being too slippery. It's almost a bit of a dry oil,  and the sparkle is real with this, everyone! My favourite time to use it is before heading out the door, so that I am fully covered in that golden glow, ready to shine in the light. It's said that this is meant to help accentuate tans (remember to stay sun safe, guys!) and dark skin tones. 

 

If, unlike me, body oils aren't your thing, then you're still in luck, because the Palmer's Shimmer Radiance Body Gloss is their other latest release, and this is a light lotion that's meant to help achieve that sun kissed glow to the skin, thanks to the skin-illuminating pearls that's part of the formula. This comes in a white tube with a flip lid, and lotion that comes out has a pearlescent sheen to it. Don't let the word gloss fool you, it's not at all sticky. Instead, this leaves the skin feeling smooth, and looking just as sparkly as the body oil.

These retail for $19.99 for the oil and $16.99 for the lotion, and they both contain natural mineral mica for that spectacular shimmer - and I mean spectacular, this shimmer is stunning! They are both vegan friendly, and it goes without saying that they have that delicious cocoa scent, which I adore. For once, I can't pick - I'm pretty sure I love them both equally! I find the oil to be more moisturising than the body gloss, but I prefer the gloss when I'm headed out at night. These are currently available where Palmer's is stocked.
