Review: AHC Hyaluronic Dewy Radiance Emulsion
I think that 2024 is truly the year that Korean skincare has been taking centre stage here on the blog, and it's not hard to see why! K-beauty has so many innovations. and they aren't afraid to use ingredients that may be considered outlandish, or lesser known. I feel like they are so obsessed with good skin that their technology makes it so that there's always some new on the horizon and worth trying. I had the pleasure of trying out two other products from AHC a while back (which you can find here and here), and I'm excited to be talking about them again today!
So, what exactly is the new obsession, and why should it be on your radar? The latest thing I've been trying from AHC is the Hyaluronic Dew Radiance Emulsion! Firstly, if you're curious about where that fits into your skincare routine, I've been using this after cleansing and toning, and prior to applying my serum. I've been using it in place of an essence. I've been really pleased with the results of using this, and given that I only looked it up after I started using it, I honestly didn't know what to expect.
The key ingredients in this emulsion are glutathione, 10-hyaluronic acid and Hya-Drone Technology. The 10-hyaluronic acid is comprised of hyaluronic acid molecules of varying size, allowing for moisture to better penetrate different layers of the skin, so that you can get maximum hydration. The Hya-Drone Technology is helpful for boosting the effects of the hyaluronic acid, providing even better hydration. The combination of glutathione, silver vine and lotus flower (also known as Actinidia Polygama and Nelumbo Nucifera respectively) can help with keeping the skin radiant and dewy-fresh.
This comes in a tall, cylindrical tube of a bottle that has a cap that's easy to pull off and put back on. The tube itself has a translucent appearance, making it easy to assess how much you have left in the bottle. Each pump only produces a small amount of product, and I find about three pushes of the pump to give me enough emulsion to cover my preferred surface area (ie face and neck). This has a light, milky texture, without being runny, and I love that this seems to get absorbed quickly.
It doesn't leave the skin feeling sticky, and instead, it just ends up being quite soft, which I'm happy about! It doesn't have a scent that I can pick up, and I love that it spreads over the skin really easily, prepping my skin for the next layer of skincare. Even on dry days, my skin stays well moisturised, without being oily. It retails for about $49, and you can find it over here. What have you tried from AHC?
