Review: Remington Shine Revival Straightener *

I love appliances, so help me, I do! Given the choice, I would literally try every single hair straightener out there, and believe me, I'm trying to! Imagine my delight when I heard that there would be a new hair straightener on the market.
Let me just set the record straight (get it?) - I don't actually need to straighten my hair, but I love what a lot of them can do these days, from straightening to curling to adding a bit of extra flick to your hair.

Not only that, I also love that with technology improving all the time, these days, it only takes a little while for things to heat up before you can apply it to your hair, so you don't have to fret if you're desperately low on time.

Instead of just talking about it, let me show you what you can achieve in 10 minutes. You can go from somewhat unruly hair (which is actually very cute in a ponytail):

To straight and sleeker tresses like these:

So, what are the specifications of the little beauty that achieved this? The Remington Shine Revival hair straightener heats up in 15 seconds, going from between 140 degrees celsius to 230 degrees celsius. It also has an automatic safety shut off for peace of mind after 60 minutes of not being in use.

The swivel cord means that you can straighten with ease, You can also apparently use this on wet (not dripping) or dry hair, which is something I should try out. This also comes with a heat proof storage pouch and vent brush, so you can take it on the go with you! This even has worldwide voltage, which means that taking it with you is even easier.

The best part of this is that it also has a set of ceramic plates infused with argan oil to help enhance shine! I would still use a shine agent with it, but this could at least help a little to get where you want to with your hair.

Don't forget we have Mother's Day coming up soon, so if your mum's on the market for a new straightener, this may be just the reminder for her to let her know that you're aware of her needs, and that you've done your research!

You can find this for $49.95 at the major retailers that stock Remington.

  8. hahaha I totally get you with "wanting them all"!! Since I cut my hair from my lower back to a lob I have been styling it with a wand from Remington and love it!! I'd like to try a straightener as well! this sounds like a great option at a reasonable price (ghd is not cool)

    1. It is pricey, the GHD, but worth it for a person who curls her hair all the time like me! Oooh! I wouldn't mind trying that wand!

  10. I'm a big fan of Remington straightners. My hair is super thick so it can be hard to find something that straightens my hair. I've a Remington straightner and love it too. Fab review doll! www.beyoutyfulyou.com

  11. What a beauty TP! The only appliance I use is a hair dryer, but I have quite a few friends still in seek mode for the perfect straightener, so I'm letting them know about this - sure seems to tick all the boxes hon, and the results speak for themselves xxx

  12. I have a Remington straightener - not this one though - it's pretty good for my needs; I have straight hair anyway and this just finishes it off for a more polished look. If only I could master the skills for curls with it, I'd be happy! (although I do have a Curl Secret which does the job pretty well)

  13. If you had a choice between this one and the Phillips moisture protect straightener that you reviewed in December, which one would you choose? I have no idea what kind of straightener I should get >< Thanks!

    1. I love them for different reasons! If you're after something a little more versatile, straightens and curls, then the Philips would be your thing. If you're after something that straightens in a flash, then the Remington is for you! I hope that helps!

  14. This looks so luxurious!! I want to get it, but does it curl your hair as well?
