Review: The Jojoba Company Cucumber & Guava Firming Eye Balm and Oil *

Happy Thursday! I love Spring, aside from the hay fever, but the change in weather can certainly wreak havoc with my skin, switching from hot and humid, to cool and dry the next, stirring up all sorts of pollen.

My eyes have been a teensy bit itchy, and it's been a little worse usually, hence when I was given the chance to try other products from the Jojoba Company, including their oil, I got pretty excited about it,

This oil is a multi-tasker, appropriate for the skin and hair, and can be used on your nails and cuticles, hair and skin. To get the most out of it, I tried it in all the different areas.

1) Hair: The pump is a little too generous, and I ended up with greasy hair when I first used it. However, once I dialled it back a notch (or three), this lightweight beauty added a bit of gloss and softness. You really don't need a lot at all for your hair!

2) Nail and cuticles: The problem with using this on your hands is juggling the pump, which has a small spout out the side, and trying to get enough in your hands to rub all over your fingers at the same time. It just got a little too tricky for me, but I did notice it getting absorbed quite well by the skin around my nails. Overall, a little fiddly, but pretty good for the cuticles.

3) Skin: This is where it was it's time to shine! I started using this when I had a small flare up of eczema under my eye (yay, fun!), and it really helped with the peeling, and while it didn't stop the itching or inflammation, it did help calm the site to some extent.

This comes in four sizes, 30ml, 85ml, 100ml and 200ml, and they range from $19.95 to $39.95. For more information on this little Aussie beauty, head to their website to have a look at their range.

I was also given the chance to trial the cucumber and guava firming eye balm, which comes in a 25ml tube with a pump. I've been using this for six weeks, and there's still quite a lot of it left in there.

The texture is watery, and I would caution those who are new to this to be careful when you pop the cap back on, because it can leak a little. This doesn't have much of a scent, and I find a little goes a very long way. Just what exactly is included in this tube of gorgeousness?

- Pure Australian Jojoba, which has antioxidant properties and is rich in vitamins A, D and E
- Cucumber
- Green Tea
- Guava
- Vitamins E and B
- Horsetail Extract
- Pomegranate

Results wise, I have found it to work well for me. It's holding off the fine lines (let's face it, the longer they stay away, the better it is!) and the shadows beneath my eyes are also currently missing, and believe me, it's not because I'm sleeping more!

There are no animal products in this eye balm, nor was it ever tested on animals, and it's Australian made and suitable for all skin types - how much better could it get than this?

This retails for $42.95, and you can find more information on their website. If you'd like to know more about some of their products, you can head over here to read about some of the other skincare beauties.

The Jojoba Company is apparently a favourite of Lisa Origliasso's from The Veronicas, and she's certainly very pretty!

Have you tried anything from the Jojoba Company before? What's your favourite?

  2. I haven't tried any of their range yet, but I checked out their website through the link you posted. I'd love to try their baby oil on my little one. He has eczema prone skin and it sounds like this would help heaps. I'll have to hunt down a stockist :)
