Review: Nassif MD Hydro-Screen Serum
With the countdown now officially on, we're fast hurtling towards Christmas, or what is more commonly known, as the silly season. And it honestly is the silliest here in Australia, followed only closely by Easter. Firstly, everybody, let me clear about this - the stores WILL reopen, and at best, it will be shut for a few days, but there will still be convenience stores and the like open, so don't panic. There no need to create a scene worthy of a post apocalyptic movie, or more realistically, a mid pandemic one, so relax, and don't clear the shelves of things that you might not need.
Secondly, this time of year can be very stressful, whether you have family around or not, and tensions can run high, so remember to allot some time for self care, because you'll be grateful that you've managed to carve out some time for yourself. Along with that self care moment, of course, is making sure that you're taking care of yourself with products that will work as hard as you. Nassif MD, the skincare line created by Dr Paul Nassif on Botched! (one of my favourite reality shows, and a real cautionary tale situation if there ever was one) has done it again with their Hydro-Screen Serum.
For my previous post about Nassif MD, you can head over here. Designed to repair, firm and protect the skin, this serum has some beautiful ingredients, such as Hyaluronic Filling Spheres™, which is a dehydrated form of hyaluronic acid that can swell with moisture when applied, and meant to help provide intense moisturisation, while improving the look of deeper lines and wrinkles, as well as improving firmness and elasticity. There's also CeramideNP, which can help support cell turnover, and assisting in forming an effective barrier against moisture loss.
Additionally, there is Retinol to help firm the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, while serviing as an antioxidant to fight free radical damage. Sytenol® A, derived from the babchi plant, can soothe the skin, while smoothing it, boosting collagen production, improving skin texture and tone, as well as reducing the appearance of fine lines. There's also Retinol Molecular Film Fluid, which is kind of what it sounds like - a thin film with stabilised retinol and vitamin E to help enhance delivery and absorption into the skin, it's also supposed to minimise water loss, therefore keeping the skin moisturised for longer. Last but not least, there's also Lipochroman®, which is a synthetic antioxidant that can help prevent damage to skin cells and tissues, thereby combating skin aging.
All of that is delivered to the skin via a frosted bottle with a good pump that puts out an amount of serum equivalent in size to a 5 cent piece. The golden serum has a smooth texture, not oily like I thought it would be, and while thick, it gets absorbed nicely, albeit a little slowly. Wait for it to dry down before applying your face cream, and you're good to go! I love that this does seem to moisturise my skin beautifully, and that it does feel more supple, as well as being a little bouncier. For just under $90 for 60ml of product over on TVSN, this is truly quite affordable, while also being very effective. I'm already 1/3 of the way through the bottle, and I will be finishing it! What have you tried from Nassif MD?
