Review: Kit: Cold Therapy Facial Treatment

A good mask never goes astray, especially if your mental health has been under stress, or your skin has been exposed to a lot of interesting environments, or simply if you're feeling in need of a little pick me up for your complexion. I think it's the product that I always seem to gravitate towards when I'm looking at picking up a little skincare treat for my face, and I love that they always seem to be churning out new and exciting products!

The Kit: Cold Therapy Facial Treatment is no exception. This vegan face mask is said to be hydrating, brightening, exfoliating, plumping, calming and de-puffing. This has been designed to give the user the sensation of an ice bath, so that it can help soothe stressed-out skin, resulting in a complexion that is both revitalised and rejuvenated. The formula contains ingredients that are meant to help support the skin barrier, as well as hydrating nutrients. There is Centella Asiatica, which is a botanic extract that's meant to help soothe and calm the skin, while a tri-mushroom blend is added to nourish it, while also soothing the face.

Additionally, there is squalene, which can help to hydrate the skin, while aiding in improving the skin texture. This retails for $42 for 75ml of product, and it comes in a fire engine red metal tube with a screw cap, and squeezing it out of the tube is easy, but as with metal tubes, always make sure that you squeeze it from the end (which some might argue you should be doing, regardless of the material it's made of, lest you be accused of being a monster).

To use this, simply cleanse the skin prior to applying a layer of this, and leaving it on for two minutes. To help intensify the experience, place it in your fridge so that this can make your skin feel like it has just been plunged into a cold pool. This is a white gel mask that has more of a creamy, silky consistency to it, and it spreads over the skin easily. It sits nicely on the skin, and it doesn't dry down.

I have found that it does help my skin cool down after a hot day, or when I've been working out, which I really appreciate, and it does it without making my skin tingle much. My skin looks a little perkier and calmer after using this, and for just 2 minutes, this is a great time saving pick me up!  I do prefer placing it in the fridge for a more intense sensation, and honestly, it's such a  relief after spending a bit of time in the sun! It's a definite Summer refresher, and I'm contemplating adding another one to my shopping list, given that I'm halfway down the tube! They are currently available at Mecca - just in time for the hot months ahead! Is this a mask you'd be keen to use?
