Review: Meluka Flora+ Skin Probiotics Multi Care Nourishing Skin Spray

I know that some people would rely on the whole new year to start a new you demarcation, but I do find it difficult to stick with new year resolutions, mostly because there's too much pressure and things inevitably fall apart, despite your good intentions. And really, if you're looking to better yourself, no matter what it may be, shouldn't the time to start on that be... now? That said, it does take a lot to actually say that you'd like to change something, and do more for yourself, so matter what time of year it is, I say, so, good job, you!

I would say that at this point, I'd really like to improve my own health and take better care of my body, inside and out. Everything that we do really should be with keeping the long game in mind, and that is why I've been using the Meluka Flora+ Skin Probiotics Multi Care Nourishing Skin Spray. As we all know, we have bacteria, our normal flora, on our skin surface, and much like the gut bacteria that we have, the balance can be thrown off, upsetting the microbiome, and this can lead to other issues.

This is where the Meluka Flora+ Skin Probiotics Multi Care Nourishing Skin Spray comes in! This is meant to nourish the skin and keep it healthy. Formulated with a blend of nine probiotic strains that are meant to help protect your skin against daily stressors, this is supposed to be for all skin types, and be good for those with sensitive skin. This has been made with Australian tea tree, which has antibacterial properties, and this is supposed to help improve skin hydration, soothe the skin while reducing inflammation, fight the signs of ageing skin, while also nourishing and protecting it against sun induced damage.

As with the gut, it's also meant to help introduce good bacteria, so that it can promote microbiome diversity, while reducing the spread of bad bacteria and inflammation. This comes in a brown plastic bottle with a spraying, not misting, pump that I don't love, but can be an easy fix, simply by replacing the pump, or pouring it into a different bottle. It has a bit of a tea tree scent to it, and it feels pleasant on the skin. In theory, I feel like this could be so much more, but at this point, it's a little anti-climatic. As someone who isn't prone to blemishes, I wonder if this may be a bit wasted on me. That said, it's been a very pleasant spray to use, and I have enjoyed having it as a cooling spray for the hot days.

I do feel like this particular field of skincare science could use a lot more work. Much like the rest of the world of probiotics, where we are only really starting to figure out how extensive the impact of probiotics can be on our bodies and minds, it's very much just the tip of the iceberg, and we still have far more questions than we do answers. I'd like to know more about the long term effects of probiotic use and how we can better harness it's usage. In the meantime, however, until proven otherwise, I'm keen to try other probiotic based products! If you're interested, you can grab your own for $24 here. What are your views on probiotic use, either orally, or topically?
