Review: ASLAN Restoring Eye Treatment
I seem to live life in the feast or famine lane, with very little in between. I'm either taking it easy and being a couch seal, with very little socialisation, or I'm out there, having social engagements lined up one after another, all while working full time and waking up early to get to the clinic, or waking up even earlier on my days off to make it to the gym. It is surprising how little sleep I can subsist on (which is certainly not recommended!), while still being able to get through the day! That said, this lack of sleep does end up reflecting on my face in the form of eye bags and fine lines, and as such, a good eye cream is always welcome in my skincare rotation!
Having tried and loved ASLAN skincare products previously - you can find the post over here - I was excited to try the ASLAN Restoring Eye Treatment. This is said to be good for those with puffy, tired eye and perfect for the babes that have sensitive eyes, as this can reduce the risk of irritation. It contains Heptapeptide-8 to help promote skin renewal and target visible signs of ageing, while caffeine can tighten and brighten the skin, as well as reduce inflammation and puffiness. The addition of licorice root means that formula is infused with powerful antioxidants, which can help combat free radicals, while also reducing redness, helping even skin tone and fortfying the skin's defenses against UV rays.
Hyaluronic acid is amazing for helping keep the skin moisturised, while CoEnzyme Q10 can help to reduce sun damage, even skin tone and improve skin hydration. While these are the hero ingredients, the formula also has other really great things in it, such as macadamia seed oil and shea butter, to name a few. All of this comes in a small black bottle with a little nozzle that's built into a silver cap. I find one pump to be sufficient for both sides, and this comes out as a white cream of medium consistency, making the tap-tap-tap exercise one that doesn't take very long, with absorption taking a couple of minutes.
This doesn't have any particular scent to it, and I like that it feels quite rich without being greasy on the skin. Sadly, I'm a little disappointed that this hasn't really helped me with my dark eye circles - I'm afraid those are as present as ever, even with regular use of this eye treatment - but I do feel like it's helped with keeping the under eye region well moisturised, while also reducing the puffiness of the skin in that area.
Overall, it's been a semi positive experience, given that it does so some of what it claims. but of course, we have to remember that this certainly had it's work cut out for it to begin with, and it was no match for my lack of sleep and general work/life stress. For those keen to try this for themselves, you can find it over here for $49 for 15ml of product. Have you had the chance to try any Aslan products and if so, what have you used?
