Review: Synergie Skin LumiBalance Multi Active Facial Oil

I've been really liking the Synergie Skin LumiBalance Multi Active Facial Oil for meeting my skin's changing needs when I'm not even sure what I'm after, given the funny weather. This is a facial oil that is brimming with 8 plant actives, all put together to help reduce the appearance of fine lines, while brightening and moisturising the skin. This comes in a frosted brown bottle, with a dropper applicator, making it really easy for you to control the amount that you get out each time.

Despite how oily this feels on first touch, it is a surprisingly light and doesn't sit on the skin for long. The only thing that I don't love about this is would be the scent - it's a little too sharp for me, but thankfully, it doesn't linger at all. This has some really great ingredients, such as bakuchiol, which is considered to be an alternative to Vitamin A, particularly for those who can't tolerate Vitamin A. This can help stimulate the production of collagen while also inhibiting it's breakdown, and reducing inflammation and hyperpigmentation. Squalene is present to help promote barrier repair, while also providing hydration and helping the penetration of active ingredients.

There is also their Ultra-Calming Lipid Complex, made of blackcurrant seed oil and balloon vine extract. It can soothe stressed, sensitive and irritated skin, helping to regenerate damaged skin by supporting wound healing. while also protecting the skin barrier from environmental factors. There's also argan oil to help soothe, soften and protect the skin, as well as antioxidants to combat free radicals. To further help reduce the breakdown of collagen and elastin, marula oil is included, and this can also assist in minimizing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and elasticity. Because it is rich in essential fatty acids, it also provides antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties to the skin.

Prickly pear seed oil has a high linoleic acid content, and this means that it can help prevent water loss while hydrating the skin. This also acts by reducing skin redness and soothing a compromised skin barrier and helping to prevent acne breakouts. This is also meant to help stimulate the skin to produce hyaluronic acid to help plump up and moisturise the skin. I know that sounds like a lot, but we're not through with the list yet! Bisabolol, which comes from chamomile, can be helpful as an anti-inflammatory, calming irritated skin.

Last but not least, there's also meadowfoam oil, which is useful to aid in boosting antioxidant defences in the skin, while inhibiting enzymes that can destroy collagen. This also has the added bonus of being able to help protect the barrier from moisture loss. I'm sure it will come as no surprise to you that my skin is loving this oil, given the ingredients - it hasn't exacerbated any episodes of eczema, which is particularly wonderful, given that I've been incredibly stressed, and my face has been feeling really moisturised. At $100 a pop, it's pricey for a gamble if you're not sure, but for someone who's already tried it, it feels worth the dough. Grab a vial for yourself over here.
