Review: Elemis Frangipani Monoi Bodi Oil

It's been a funny little Summer so far! Going from warmer days before Spring even truly hit, to lots and lots of humidity, followed by a cold snap, the Summer of 2022 is shaping up to be unpredictable, which just feels like an analogy for life itself over the last couple of years. Nevertheless, it's still been better than Winter! No matter the weather, however, body oils remain a staple for me at the moment, and it's no surprise, because they are absolutely skin loving!

I've been using the Elemis Frangipani Monoi Body Oil, as part of my latest foray into body oils, and this is simply delicious. If you love scented products, particularly those that transport you to exotic far off locations that allow you to sip on margaritas while you're protected from the full glare of the sun, as you're lazily dangling your feet over your beach chair, letting your toes graze the sand, then this little cutie may be perfect for you.

Retailing for a cool $80 for 100 ml of product, this body oil is packed with nourishing goodness. There is coconut oil to help hydrate the skin, monoi oil for the scent, and to further boost the moisturising qualities of the oil, as well frangipani for the cleansing and skin rejuvenating properties. As an aside, monoi oil can also have anti-inflammatory properties, which can be helpful for those with skin that can flare up with irritation, such as eczema and contact dermatitis.

This comes in a translucent red bottle, that has a small lid that you have to unscrew to get the oil out. I don't know if it's just me, or if anyone else had an issue with this, but for the longest time, I couldn't figure out how to unscrew the bottle! It turned out that the cap for the bottle was just the tiny little silver thing, leading to a small nozzle for the oil, which means that you at least wouldn't end up dumping a whole bottle of oil out accidentally!

This smells amazing, and my skin absolutely loves it. I tend to over indulge, which can lead to my skin staying oily, rather than having the oil dry down a little bit more. When I'm not quite so heavy handed, the skin stays soft without being greasy. This also smells beautiful, and when I move around during the day, I can catch whiffs of it drifting up to me. The other interesting thing about this oil is that it can solidify in colder weather, and on cooler nights, you can see little white solid lumps sitting in the oil. This in no way affects the product, and you can just sit it in warm water to liquefy the product. If you're after a floral, fragrant oil that you can smother your skin in, this is one to add to your list, and it can be found at Mecca. Do you have a preference for floral scented products?
