Review: La Mav Firming Treatment Mask

La Mav strikes again! I feel like if I were to look at all the blog posts I've done this year, La Mav would definitely come up as among the top most talked about brands on the blog, and for good reason. I have really enjoyed what I've tried from them, and their latest hit, the La Mav Firming Treatment Mask, may very well be my favourite of the lot!

Much like all the other La Mav masks, this comes in a metal tube with a little plastic cap that you unscrew to get the product out. The mask itself is a rich, brick red, and it spreads over the skin smoothly. The main claim for this is that it's supposed to help lift and tone your skin, while also hydrating it and improving your complexion. This achieves those goals through the following ingredients.

There is Commiphora, which  is supposed to plump the skin, helping to maintain skin tonicity. Nautral Hyaluronic Acid helps to increase moisture levels in the skin by binding to water in the cells, leaving you with plumper and firmer skin. Caviar Finger Lime contains naturally occurring AHAs for a bit of gentle exfoliation, and it also helps in locking in moisture. The base of Australian Red Clay assists in reviving and detoxifying the skin and pores, while White Kaolin Clay reduces inflammation, and firms the skin.

The addition of Squalene, Jojoba Oil and Macadamia Oil can help the skin to retain moisture, leaving the skin feeling more supple. There is also Davidson Plum, which an Australian native that is rich in phyto-nutrients, resulting in quicker cell turnover, as well as a reduction in inflammation, and an improved skin barrier. Davidson Plum is also filled with antioxidants, while being a source of Vitamin E and Zinc, both of which help to promote healthy skin. There is also something called Amla Extract, which can help brighten your complexion. Whew - I got exhausted just typing this! Sounds like a lot of good stuff, doesn't it?

I've noticed some interesting things (all good!) since starting this, and solely this, as my mask every 2 days, over the period of 3 weeks. I actually do think that this has improved the tone and clarity of my skin, which sounds kinda crazy that it delivers what it says it would, but heck, that's pretty awesome! And given that this also has the appeal of a clay mask, I'm using this to the very last smear! You can get your very own tube online over here for $59, and why wouldn't you? It's brilliant! What was the last thing you tried from La Mav?
