Review: Lancome Lip Indole Butterglow

Over the last couple of years, I've made a subconscious, almost imperceptible shift away from heavy lip products and I've gone onto more hydrating products with a hint of colour. I don't know when or why I made that decision, really, but I'm glad that I did so back then, because that's what led me to buy the Lancome Lip Indole Butterglow! It's been a while since I've tried a lip product that ticks so many boxes for me, and one that I've fallen head over heels for, and this one is a lippie that I've fallen for HARD.

A lot of the lip products that I currently use don't have a heap of colour to them. Instead, they are designed to hydrate and protect the lips, while giving them a slight hint of something. It's been a bit of a struggle recently, with Spring weather - the wind has been whipping my hair up, making it stick to whatever I have on my lips (in addition to blowing leaf litter directly onto the lips - ick), while also being a little drying, so matte products haven't been ideal for this time of year.

This is a little different to me, in that this actually combines a hit of colour, while also hydrating the lips beautifully. The formula is infused with 12% squalene, making it a lip loving product that also hydrates and softens the lips, while giving it a flush of colour that is buildable, with a dewy gorgeous finish. This comes in a clear case that makes it easy to see which one you've grabbed on the way out the door, because, let's face it, once you get one, you're gonna want to grab more, and the cap clicks in place in a reassuring manner, making it so that you don't think it's going to pop apart while in transit.

This is said to have a smooth and comfortable application, and it totally lives up to the hype! Each stroke that you take, gliding it over the lips, leaves the lips feeling hydrated, moisturised and with a slick of colour. I started with this in Heated Glow, which is a semi bright pink shade that is like a rosy my lips but better, and I've already purchased my second lippie, a darker colour that's better for evenings out. This comes in 15 different shades, and I'm currently contemplating which shade I should add to the collection next, because two aren't quite enough at this point!

The main selling point for me, and the most amazing thing about this, is that my lips continue to stay looking and feeling plump the entire time while I've got it on, and it's just gorgeous with that dewy hit of colour. These retail for $65 each, and you can usually either snag a freebie, like an excellent GWP with Lancome, or find it on sale somewhere. What's your go to Summer glow for the lips?
