Review: BioRevive EyeRevive Self Heating Steam Eye Masks and Instant Cooling Gel Masks

Christmas is... exhausting. And more so when there are lots of things going on around the world, and thinking makes me feel sad. I find that the best way to move forward is to unplug from everything and focus on what brings you joy, and that sometimes involve me having a nap in the middle of the day, when things get too much, or I'm just tired, physically, mentally, or emotionally. And I've been getting some actual beauty sleep when I've been catching some zzzs, thanks to BioRevive!

I've had the pleasure of using the BioRevive EyeRevive Self Heating Steam Eye Masks and Instant Cooling Gel Masks, and they serve two different purposes, with the singular goal of leaving you with eyes that feel revived and refreshed and skin that looks rejuvenated. Let's start with the Self Heating Steam Eye Masks! You may be more familiar with this type of eye mask, as I find this to be more popular in places like South East Asia. It's made to deliver gentle heat therapy, so that it can help relax tired eyes, easy discomfort and support natural eye hydration.

There's not prep involved - simply tear the packet, and allow for it to be activated by air, then slip the loops over the ears to help hold the mask in place. I find that the warmth is best for when I've strained my eyes, and they're feeling a little tired, or when I'm on a plane, dealing with the cool dry air in the cabin, and wanting a bit of shut eye. It makes me feel all warm and cosy, and it's easier for me to be taken off to dreamland for some rest. I find that this does leave me feeling rejuvenated, as it helps to keep me relaxed, and it provides a soothing sensation.

By contrast, the Instant Cooling Gel Masks are meant to help soothe puffy and irritated eyes by using hydrogel technology to drop the temperature of the skin in contact with the mask. These are packaged to used on the go, like the Self Heating Eye Masks. Simply slip it out of the sleeve, and pop the loops around your ears, then have a little snooze. I love using this for when I've been crying (full disclosure: in my line of work, I do that not infrequently), not had enough sleep, or when I can feel a slight hum of tension creeping up. This really does cool my skin down quickly, and in a comfortable fashion, and it seems to help refresh my skin and eyes.

I love that these seem to work really well on me - the only complaint I have is that the skin contact they make is perhaps not as close as I'd like for it to be, but that can be fixed by using a sleep eye mask over it to keep it better adhered to the skin. I also worry about the amount of waste that comes with using them when I choose convenience over sustainability, so I'm only using them for when I'm on the move, when I can't take everything with me. They retail for under $15 for a pack of 5 each, and can be found at various retailers, including Chemist Warehouse. Are these products you'd use?
