Review: Anastasia Beverly Hills Magic Touch Concealer

I feel that highly driven babes, like me, are constantly seeking perfection, whether it's in our blog pictures, Instagram shots, or on a deeper level, in ourselves. I mean, I suppose I could trace it all the way back to my Tiger Mama, who has always taught me to push myself, and strive for the best version of me. Unlike my mother, however, for whom it is never good enough (I love you, mom, but you know it's true), I know when to accept me for me, and just embrace all of the negativity that comes with the good. And of course, perfection is a bit of an illusion, and what better product to help create that than the Anastasia Beverly Hills Magic Touch Concealer?

I was recently offered the chance to try out this concealer, and as a hardcore ABH fan who has tried a whole range of products from them, I was excited to see how this would perform! I was particularly excited to see that it's quite an inclusive range, with this being available in a total of 25 shades. This is a vegan, light reflecting concealer that is meant to help correct, brighten and blur, all while giving you an akin to second skin finish.

This is meant to be deliver a buildable medium coverage, and result in a smooth, crease free and comfortable application that doesn't give you an oxidised finish, nor is it meant to settle into the fine lines and creases on the skin. It contains plant based glycerin to help keep the face moisturised, as well as licorice root for soothing and calm the skin. There is also amino acid coated pigments to help it to adhere to the skin.

The concealer comes in a fat tube with a doe foot applicator, and my favourite way to use this is to swipe this under my eyes to help conceal the dark eye bags that crop up with the stress and reduced hours of sleep that I coast by on in life. The first thought that pops into my head is just how creamy this concealer is, and how with just a couple of swipes, I can layer this up sufficiently and blend it in just so. The result is one where my skin looks flawless, and I find shade 5, which is appropriate for light skin with neutral peach undertones, to be perfect for my needs.

Given that I don't tend to use it for blemishes, or to deal with signs of inflammation and redness, where you'd have to find a shade that is closest to the skin tone, for the former, and a shade with a golden undertone for the latter, I feel like shade 5 is just right for me and my dark under eye circles. If you're keen, you can also purchase appropriate shades to highlight and contour your features. You can also use this for all over coverage, which is basically foundation, but this is honestly so comfortable and easy to wear, I can understand why someone would do that. Available now for $49 on Mecca, I would highly recommend you click add to cart as soon as possible!
