Review: Antipodes Moisture Boost Natural Lipsticks

A new lipstick is a thing of beauty - the first swatch, that moment when it contacts the lips... It's not just a lip colour, it's also an accessory. This is why, when I received an invite to the Antipodes lipstick launch, I just had to reschedule a flight so I could go, and it's definitely worth it!
As you may be aware, Antipodes is a range that has been certified vegetarian by the UK Vegetarian Society, which is the longest standing vegetarian organisation in the world, and there are also many products in the collection that are appropriate for vegans.  Launched in 2006, Antipodes is now stocked in over 1000 stores in New Zealand, Australia and 12 other countries.

Antipodes does listen to their consumers, and these lipsticks are proof of that! These new babies were launched to accommodate the wants of their audience, who are keen on a wider lipstick range, and these also meet the needs of women in China, who would prefer a safer, natural lipstick.

The ingredients in it resulted in their tagline - lipsticks so healthy you could almost eat them! Boasting superfoods such as avocado pear, calendula flower, evening primrose see and argan oil, these would help condition the lips while coloring. Additionally, they also contain beeswax, hydrating shea butter, jojoba oil and vitamin E - sounds tempting yet?

I've only had the chance to try three colours from the range, but I'm chomping at the bit to get my hands on more! These create an excellent stain, and they have a satin-like finish. I find touch ups to be less necessary with them, and overall, they sit well on me. Also, a little but appreciated touch - all of the lipstick boxes are made from 100% biodegradable cardboard from sustainable forests. How cool is that?

Aside from focusing on the beauty of women (and some men), Antipodes also looks at improving that of nature by being the first beauty brand in the world to partner with the World Wide Fund (WWF) for Nature. They participated in publicising the plight of the critically endangered Maui dolphin, as well as donating money to WWF-New Zealand - don't you just love it when companies speak up for the little guy?

I love these lipsticks for comfortable daily wear, with their black casing and recycled boxes. Make sure you check them out in store at David Jones the next time you get the chance to!

Are you excited about these little beauties? What's your favourite shade of the three?
