Review: Chi Chi Eye Magic in So Sexy

So, a couple of weeks ago, I thought I'd try something different, meaning that I went out there and bought a box of Chi Chi Eye Magic Instant Eye Shadow in So Sexy, which is a silver/grey smoky eye look. While this looks like a new product on the market, it was actually around about 3 years ago, and disappeared, but it's made a reappearance, and I figured that this was as good a time as any to give it a go! These retail for around $10 and there are 5 pairs in each pack.

The premise is simple - there are two applicators, and it's really easy to you. Here are the steps:
1) Pick them up with one hand
2) Press it to the lid for about 4 seconds, ensuring that there is adequate transfer of eyeshadow from the pad to your skin
3) Swipe it in an upwards and outwards motion.
4) Use the reverse side of the pad to blend
Easy as 1, 2, 3, 4!

Here are the results:

They are dead easy to use, and while I did use some primer, I believe this is extremely pigmented on it's own. I did have to go over it again a little bit, as eyelids honestly aren't just the one size. With primer on underneath, this held all day long for at least 10 hours!

However, given how shimmery it was, I felt extremely conspicuous going out in public like this during the day. In hindsight, I probably should have bought a different shade!

I also had to use a blending brush to blend everything together and fade it out a little. The reverse side just didn't quite do as good a job as it was probably meant to.

At the end of the day, I'd still prefer straight up eyeshadow, but this was interesting to use. I don't see a lot of application for it in my life, but I can see it being fun for first timers and newbies!

Have you tried this before? Which one would you go for?
