My Collection of Highlight and Contour Palettes

I've really gotten into highlighting and contouring recently, and now own a small number of different palettes designed for this purpose. For those who deem it too tricky, it's actually dead easy, as long as you have a good buffing brush.

Here are the duos that I hold in my collection:

Illamasqua; Lorac; Face of Australia

And here are the swatches:

Illamasqua; Lorac; Face of Australia

and

Illamasqua; Lorac; Face of Australia

As you can see from the pictures, while the Lorac bronzer looks the darkest in the pan, it's actually the FOA one that looks considerably darker. For beginners, the Illamasqua duo may be the easiest to use, as it's quite mild, and has a nice subtle shimmer, as opposed to the others, which could make it hard to blend if you're a little heavy handed with it.

I am very happy with all three of them, however, and keep them out on a regular rotation. The Face of Australia duo is the cheapest, at $9.95, and can be found in Priceline. The Illamasqua duo is sold in Myer for $39 and the Lorac pan is the hardest to obtain, but can be found online.

Do you highlight and contour on a regular basis? What do you have?

  2. I only use contour and highlight when going out for a special occasion.. I don't have any palettes just individual pans, might have to check out the FoA one, I love the tone of the bronzer x

  4. Highlighters are awesome :) I love your cute little collection. I have way too many which is crazy because I doubt anyone can ever use up an entire highlighter!

    1. I have separate liquid and pan highlighters as well - I'm trying not to get more, but shimmer is so pretty!

  5. I don't contour much, but I love using my bronzer! I'd highly recommend you to try bobbi brown's matte bronzers for contouring after you finish this batch!

    1. Tempting! I love the look of Bobbi Brown products, but I think they do animal testing? So that's probably not going to make my buy list any time soon! :(
