Review: Byoma Hydrating Body Wash
Phew, have we reached the end of the week? It's been a very long one, and I'm really looking forward to turning my brain off for a moment. How do people with independents get the chance to have a moment for themselves? Well, with today being an exception, of course, given that it's Mother's Day, and I imagine that lots of people will be sitting around with their kids/families and people will be more together than not, much like me with my cat, refusing to get off my lap while I type this - he might as well be fused to my lap. That said, if there are any mothers who are feeling overwhelmed by the end of the day, at least you know that you can step into the shower for a few moments of alone time. For some people, that is the one spot in the house where there's a lock.
Given that this is the one time of day that we may have to ourselves, I think we need to reframe that as a chance to reflect on the day, and to start destressing from everything that's happened. As such, I've started looking at my body wash as not just a functional thing, but rather, as a treat for my senses and my skin to help reset my mind at the end of the day. I've been trying out the Byoma Hydrating Body Wash, as I've had a lot of success with the brand, and I have to say, this has been a lovely body wash to use!
This is a dense body cleanser that's meant to help intensely hydrate the skin before you've even left the shower, and let me tell you, during the Winter, I'll take all the help I can get! This is supposed to help provide immediate hydration to the skin, while also increasing the smoothness of it. Rather than just doing something immediate and having it end there, this can also protect and maintain the skin barrier, so that your skin can stay hydrated for longer, and be healthier. To top it off, this is supposed to help keep the skin radiant, and reduce scaling and flaking.
The formula includes squalene, which is great for improving the skin barrier, leading to less water loss, and a more hydrated complexion. It also has beta glucan in it, which is meant to help hydrate and soothe the skin. There's also a prebiotic complex that's part of the formula, which is meant to help support the skin's microbiome, so that you can have healthier, happier skin moving forward. This is vegan and cruelty free, making it an inclusive product that just about anyone could use. This comes packaged in an aquamarine green tube with blue lettering, if you're going for the smaller version, but it also comes with in a bottle with a pump, for those who are into using it for the long haul.
I was surprised by how creamy it felt, and the texture just glides onto the skin beautifully, and once you work it into the skin, it lathers up really nicely. I love that the skin doesn't feel dry after using this, nor does this result in my skin feeling slippery after washing it off. Rather, it leaves my skin feeling soft and comfortable. It has an almost powdery scent, which I quite like. Overall, it's a lovely body wash, and one that's appropriate for this dry, cold weather that we're experiencing. You can find it where Byoma is stocked, including Sephora. What's your preferred body wash for Winter?
