Review: Q+A Hyaluronic Acid Daily Moisturiser
There was a time when I wouldn't worry too much about a moisturiser in the morning, beneath my sunscreen, and my skin seemed mostly ok with that. These days, though, I definitely need a bigger hit of hydration to help carry my skin through the day, so that it's not feeling too dry and tight at the end of a 12 hour shift. Given that dry skin is something that I'm concerned about, it means I've also had to think about the best active ingredient to use, and when it comes to dry skin, hyaluronic acid definitely has to be one of the top choices for keeping it hydrated!
Q+A is a brand that's previously been featured on the blog, and you can find them over here and here, as well as the other products that I tried a while back in the Q+A Hyaluronic Acid range, over here and here. I was excited when I was given the chance to try the Daily Moisturiser, as I really liked the Face Mist and Hydrating Cleanser, and heading into Winter, I was starting to plan for the dry months ahead, and wanted something that would give me an additional layer of deep moisturisation.
For those who may be unfamiliar with hyaluronic acid, this is meant to help retain water, so that the skin can stay better moisturised, resulting in skin that is plump and smooth. This moisturiser is cruelty free, fragrance free and vegan, which makes it inclusive, and what's more, it's appropriate for those with oily, stressed, combination, dry, normal and sensitive skin, which means just about anyone can use it! The key ingredients, aside from the hero of the product, hyaluronic acid, include rice bran extract, which is good for soothing and hydrating the skin.
Rice bran extract also has a ton of antioxidants, as well as Vitamin E, which means that it can help keep the skin soft and bright, while protecting the face against environmental aggressors. There's also polyglutamic acid, which means on top of the hyaluronic acid drawing in water molescules and rice bran extract adding to the hydration, this ingredient will also help keep the skin moisturised, as well as promote skin repair. It's also meant to work synergistically with hyaluronic acid to provide the skin with a protective barrier, so that there's a reduction in the water loss, helping keep the skin moisturised for longer.
This comes in a flip lid tube, and the moisturiser, while moderately thick to begin with, thins out really nicely when warmed up between the palms, and it spreads easily over the skin. I love that this doesn't feel like very much on the skin at all, and that it only takes about a minute for this to be absorbed. This results in my skin feeling really moisturised throughout the day, which means that I don't have to worry about feeling all wrinkly and dry, on top of being exhausted at the end of a very long shift. And best of all, this is a very affordable $18 at Priceline! Are you a fan of hyaluronic acid?
