Review: Byoma Brightening Toner
One of my favourite brands to land in Australia this year is a brand that I originally got overseas, and that has to be Byoma! We're talking affordable skincare that's sold at Sephora, and a brand that's focused on maintaining and enhancing what you have by keeping the skin barrier happy. Essentially, we're looking at establishing and keeping a good baseline, so that you can build upon this solid foundation with other products over time. And where better to start than with one of the most often skipped steps in skincare - the humble toner?
The Byoma Brightening Toner is suitable for combination, dry, normal and oily skin, which makes it a very inclusive product. This is particularly great for those with concerns regarding dryness, dullness, oiliness, uneven skin texture and tone, as well as enlarged pores. It's also meant to be suitable across a wide age range, going from those under 20, well into your 50s. The fact that this is also vegan, fragrance and alcohol free, as well as cruelty free, means that this is a toner that just about everyone can use!
Designed to clean pores, while gently removing excess oil, it's meant to control oil production, so that you can be left with softer, smoother skin and a brighter complexion. This comes in a tall, peachy orange bottle with a large screw cap, which means you won't be able to lose, or fumble and drop it, and it has a little opening on the top, allowing the user to pour the product out. The toner is clear, and has a very watery consistency.
You can either pour this onto a cotton pad before gently wiping it across the skin, or, if you're lazy like me, and that's an extra step too far, you can put a small amount of this into the palm of your hand, before patting it into the skin. The ingredients include their Tri-Ceramide Complex to help support your skin barrier, as well as exfoliating lactic and mandelic acid, urea and birch extract, so that it can help improve the tone and texture of your skin, without wreaking any havoc.
This is a gentle and easy toner to love! My skin hasn't reacted negatively to it, and instead, I do feel like it's been great for helping me keep my skin feeling smooth. It truly is fragrance free, and sinks into the skin in a flash. It retails for just $27 for 150ml of product, which makes this very affordable, and it's currently available both instore and online at Sephora. If you're new to the world of toners, this may be a good place to start! And if you're a seasoned toner user, I think you'd be pleased by this as well! What have you tried from Byoma?
