Review: Benefit Cosmetics Dew La La Liquid Highlighter
Shorter days means that we're having less hours of sunshine, and the rain, with the obligatory cloud cover, has resulted in me barely getting any time outside in the sun. It's quickly turning cooler, and it's around this time that I worry about my skin starting to look a little dull. For the longest time, liquid highlighter has been my daily weapon to help my skin look dewy and bright, adding it to my foundation for a glowy finish. However, I've long given up using foundation everyday, and instead, I've opted to simply go for the sheer coverage that can be provided by a light layer of liquid highlighter.
Since then, I've been on a lovely journey to try out as many liquid highlighters that can help act as a second skin, and it's been really fun! I've definitely found a few that were meant to be used to simply highlight certain points, rather than be used as an all over the face product, and others that have been purchased multiple times. I thought I'd branch out from my usual brand, when I saw that Adore Beauty had the Benefit Cosmetics Dew La La Highlighter, as their face makeup products have always resonated with me.
I bought The Benefit Cosmetics Dew La La Liquid Highlighter as it's meant to give the skin a dewy finish that is devoid of shimmer of sparkle, which means that you should get a flawless finish that doesn't make you seem like you're makeup that makes you looks like a disco ball. Like a natural, radiant look, and if you're like me, you can wear this as your base, or if you'd rather, you can mix this through your foundation, so that you can still achieve the coverage you'd prefer, while finishing with that good glow! If that all seems a bit too much, you can also add this to your moisturiser for a more subtle, radiant finish.
This also has skin loving ingredients, such as hyaluronic acid and glycerin, to help keep that skin feeling moisturised and plump, as well as niacinamide for brightening and assisting in keeping that skin tone even. There's even sunflower seed oil in it to help hydrate and soften the skin, which means that while you're achieving your daily glow goals on the outside, this is working to keep the skin happy. It comes in a total of six shades, so you can pick what's most appropriate for your skin tone. For me, I thought that Luna (Light Medium) would work best, as that's my baseline, but my Summer version might be Nova (Medium Tan), so I might have to look into that when it get warmer at the end of the year.
This comes in a 25ml tube with a screw cap, and the texture of this is light, creamy and easy to blend into the skin. I especially love that this doesn't react with any other products that I've been using it with, and that it's easy to work this into the skin. This really is a daily wear liquid highlighter that gives the skin a beautiful, natural, radiant glow, and it works as a gorgeous base to build my makeup upon. I love that this doesn't seem to rub off onto my white collar at work, and it doesn't come off with the moderate amount of exertion that I put myself through in my pole classes. For $55 a tube, this isn't cheap, but, to me, it feels very worth it! It's available where Benefit Cosmetics can be found, online at various retailers, and in store at places like Sephora and Myer. This is something that you'd use?
