Review: Wella Professionals Ultimate Smooth Shampoo, Mask and Miracle Oil Serum

My hair has been on a real journey over the last few years, and I honestly mean a journey! I have bleached it and dyed it myself multiple times, had professionals work on my hair themselves, and used a variety of products and hot hair tools on my tresses. It's truly been teased, attacked and worked over, and it's truly a miracle that my hair is still this full and not horrifically dry and awful. That said, I can't take much credit for it - it really does come down to what I've been using on my hair, and the Wella Professionals Ultimate Smooth collection is the latest range I've been using to help keep my hair under control!

 

I was sent the Wella Professional Ultimate Smooth Shampoo, Mask and Miracle Oil Serum, and I was excited to put them through their paces! Designed for frizzy hair, this range is supposed to help tame rough, dry or hard to manage hair, leaving you with sleek, silky and manageable hair that is soft to the touch. Side note - I totally love when I get sent a spectrum of products across the range, which means that I get to see how a number of different products work on me, and more importantly, how they work together. The Ultimate Smooth Shampoo is supposed to gently cleanse, removing metals and build-up from hair, with their lightweight, hydrating formula, while also controlling frizz and flyaways.

 

It's also meant to protect your hair against humidity, be colour safe and appropriate for all hair types that could use a bit of smoothing over. And just in case you're wondering, yes, this is in fact vegan! It has omega-9 and squalene in it, and it comes in a clear, golden bottle with a flip lid, containing 250ml of product. I'm not going to lie - it was love at first wash with this! It lathers up nicely, and it's easy to massage into my hair and scalp. Once I've rinsed it out, my hair feels strangely soft, which is, frankly, amazing, as it's never really that way with shampoo. This retails for $54.

 

I then follow it up with the Ultimate Smooth Mask, which comes in a large, opaque golden jar with a screw lid. This has a price tag of $56 for 150 ml of product, and it's honestly worth every penny! This rich treatment mask is made to deeply nourish the hair, so that you can have softer, smoother hair that is less frizzy, and much shinier. It's said to have a rich, creamy texture, without weighing the hair down, and I can assure that this is absolutely true. Like the shampoo, this is also vegan and colour safe. I feel like I can thank the omega-9 and squalene in this for making my hair feel soft and smooth, while not being weighed down, or made to feel greasy. Truly, once I squeeze the excess water out of my hair, my hair feels outrageously touchable and soft - I can't love this enough!

 

As the final step of my hair care routine, once I've towel dried my hair to the point where it isn't dripping wet, I then place about 3 pumps of the Miracle Oil Serum into my hands. This is the most expensive, sitting at $78 for 100ml of product, and this vegan, lightweight oil doesn't make it so that the hair feels like an oil slick. Instead, this is quickly absorbed, helping me keep some bounce and movement to the hair, taming frizz and boosting shine, without making it feel heavy. The range doesn't have much of a scent to it, and while I feel like it seems to do more for my hair from the roots to the middle, and that there's still a bit of frizz at the end, it's better with this range than with some others.
