Review: MooGoo Creamy Hydrating Face Cleanser

What's your favourite way, or preferred way, I should say, to keep your skin feeling hydrated this time of year? I feel like it's a concerted effort across the board, in a perpetual cycle, starting from what I use to wash my face in the morning, through to my cleansing oil for removing my makeup at the end of the day, and everything else in between. As much as I have grown to love the evolution of cleansers over time, where I started with harsh gel cleansers for hormonal skin, and how gel cleansers have turned into more of a hydrating situation, I can't quite help but love a cream cleanser for the cooler months.

At least, that's what I thought I was getting with the MooGoo Creamy Hydrating Face Cleanser, but it's actually more of a hybrid, and totally worth trying! Firstly, it's apparently a new formula, and it's meant to be four times more hydrating compared to their original formula. Having not tried the original, I don't have a comparison point, but I do feel like this definitely is hydrating! Touted to have a silky smooth formula, so that you can have super soft skin, this is suitable for all skin types, going from dry to oily, as well as blemish-prone skin.

Formulated with a blend of four coconut and glucose based cleansers, this has an oatmeal fragrance, and it also has milk protein in it to help improve the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. This cleanser is also supposed to help retain moisture, improve skin barrier function and plump the skin, while also smoothing it. This has a gel texture, which is quite thick, but once you work it between your hands by rubbing them together, it makes it a breeze to spread it over the skin. Simply massage it into the skin in circular motions, and feel it take the day away.

I love that this is very soothing on the skin, as is the oatmeal scent, and my skin feels strangely moisturised after washing it off, even almost like I haven't taken it off. There has been one massive downside to this cleanser, and it's been a frustrating feature. For the life of me, I can't quite figure out how to work this pump! I have tried in various ways, for a couple of months, and it truly doesn't quite get the product out. It would spurt out sporadically, but not be consistent at all. I just can't seem to work it at all, and I've had to unscrew the pump each time, which is maddening, because it really feels like it should work, but it doesn't!

Aside from the ridiculous packaging (someone, drop me a line if it's not just me!), this cleanser has been soothing to use, and great for the dry weather! I love that it seems to help with keeping my skin feeling moisturised, and preventing it from feeling tight and itchy. It's currently available where MooGoo is sold, including Priceline. Having used MooGoo products in the past for cracking, unhappy skin, it's nice to now be able to add this cleanser to my list of MooGoo items that I'd use again, as long as I can get it out without any issues! What's your favourite MooGoo product?
