Review: Dr G Red Blemish Clear Hyal-Cica Soothing Serum
Getting blemishes definitely mars my skin, and as someone who generally has relatively clear skin, it really stands out when I get one. Particularly when it's my time of the month, you can be assured that my skin does freak out a little bit, resulting in lesions that I'd rather do without. When that happens, I'm always grateful for having products at hand that could help deal with them. I've been using some Dr G products, which you can read about over here and here, and I was recently sent the Dr G Red Blemish Clear Hyal Cica Soothing Serum to try out, which has been quite lovely.
The Dr G Red Blemish Clear Hyal Cica Soothing Serum is said to be an all in one solution for sensitive and dry skin. This is supposed to soothe and hydrate the skin, while also keeping irritated skin cool and banishing blemishes. The formula includes low molecular hyaluronic acid, which is what's responsible for attracting water into the skin, and keep it there, so that the skin can stay moisturised and plump for longer, while the Hyal Cica is what helps with soothing the skin. It's also meant to help improve the appearance of pores, while also controlling sebum secretion and fade blemishes.
It comes in a clear, stout plastic bottle, with a dropper built into the cap. The suction of the dropper is excellent, and I use a whole dropper of it on my skin twice daily. This has quite a thin, almost viscous consistency to it, and it's really easy to spread over the skin. It literally takes seconds for this to be absorbed, without leaving a trace behind, so that my skin doesn't end up feeling tacky, sticky or uncomfortable.
This doesn't have an obvious fragrance to it, and I love how gentle it is on me. I really like the packaging, and how easy it is to get the product out, without needing to dip back in for more. It seems to agree with my skin quite nicely, which makes sense, as this is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive and acne-prone skin. I'm left with skin that has a nice instant glow, without looking wet or oily, and over the last few weeks, I feel like this has helped in making my skin feel better moisturised.
This serum is a very generous 50 ml, and it's also not particularly expensive, coming in around $30+, depending on where you buy it from, making it an excellent purchase for those watching their bank accounts like a hawk (cozzie lives, am I right?), while still not wanting to compromise on looking after their skin. This slice of K-beauty can be found at various online retailers, and for anyone wanting gentle, hydrating skincare, make sure you check it out!
