Review: Tatcha The Camellia Cleansing Oil

Do you ever just have a day where you're like, I don't want to be a person anymore, I'm so tired, and exhausted from the day, can I just be a cat, please? Of course, that's just wishful thinking, because, trust me, I've tried, and I remain a human to this day, upsettingly. Well, short of becoming a cat, the next best thing is the ability to remove your makeup with the least amount of effort possible when you're bone tired and don't want to doing very much, and that is where the Tatcha The Camellia Cleansing oil comes in!

The Camellia Cleansing Oil boasts the ability to hydrate the skin, cleansing it without stripping it of it's moisture, while also being nourishing and soothing. It's meant to gently dissolve dirt, sunscreen, oil and makeup, so that you can be left with balanced and soft skin. This is ideal for all skin types, and this has a few key ingredients in it to help achieve these goals. There is Japanese Camellia Oil, also known as Tsubaki, and this is a apparently chock full of Vitamins A, B, D and E, as well as omegas 3. 6 and 9, which are nourishing for the skin, and can help promote a healthy skin barrier.

This also has Hadasei-3™ Complex, this is made up of a trio of  Japanese anti-aging superfoods - green tea, rice and algae, and this blend is supposed to help restore your skin, helping it look radiant and healthy. Additionally, there is rice bran oil, which is what's responsible for removing the build up of makeup and dirt on your skin, while also providing nourishment. This cleansing oil comes in a glossy, opaque bottle with a pull off cap that reveals a pump with a slim nozzle.

To use this, apply a couple of pumps into the palm of your hand. For days where I have lots of makeup up, I go up to about five pumps. Massage it into the skin in circular motions, making sure that you get into the hard to reach places, or work a little more around stubborn makeup like mascara, and once you feel like you've done a decent job of it, add a little bit of water to emulsify the cleansing oil. This will turn it into a milk liquid, taking away the makeup and dirt with little effort.

After rinsing it off, I then follow it up with another cleanser for that double cleanser goodness, leaving my skin feeling soft and smooth, rather than tight and uncomfortable. I find this to work really well, even when faced with stubborn traces of makeup from things like all day foundation, shimmer eyeshadow and mascara. For $87, you'll get 150ml of product, and while it's not a small price tag, this definitely works very well on my skin, which makes this worth it for me. It's currently available at Mecca. Do you use cleansing oils as part of your normal routine?
