Review: Sol De Janeiro Beija Flor Elasti-Body Oil

It must be common knowledge by now, if you lurk on this blog, or on my Instagram, that I'm all about the body oils, when it comes to keeping the skin on my body moisturised. I think I'm slowly, but surely, running through all the body oils that I've been able to find on the usual sites - Mecca, Sephora, Adore Beauty... You name it, I've probably purchased it, or occasionally, been sent it. And of course, my current obsession hails from Mecca, where my last few body oils have been purchased, and it's none other than the lastest body oil from the cult brand, Sol de Janeiro!

Total side note, but it was brought to my attention recently by a 10 year old that this brand has been very popular among the kids at her school, and I was floored. It sounds like they're obsessed with their body sprays, and can't get enough of the range. Remember when we were young, and it was all about the Impulse body sprays? It then evolved into Victoria's Secret body mists, and then the youth moved to Bath and Body Works when it turned up here in Australia. Then, I guess they've now latched onto Sol de Janeiro, and it's such an interesting shift to see. Anyway, I digress. As awesome as their body sprays are, I'm definitely more about their body lotions and oils, and the Beija Flor Elasti-Body Oil is outstanding!

This cruelty-free and vegan body oil is marketed as a non-greasy moisturising body oil, which has been made with cold-pressed cacay oil, said to be a natural alternative to retinol, which means that it has anti-ageing properties. This also has plant squalene in the formula, so that it can help moisturise the skin, while protecting the skin barrier, as well as amaranthus flower seed extract to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. If that doesn't appeal to you after reading all of that, then perhaps this will - it contains the fruity floral scent of Cheirosa 68.

This means it starts off with top notes of pink dragonfruit and lychee essence - sweet and slightly fruity, which then seamlessly segues into Brazilian jasmine, ocean air and hibiscus, giving it that fresh, floral burst of sweetness. It then dries down to creamy notes of sheer vanilla and sun musk - a smooth and  beautiful finish. The fragrance hits you from the get go, as you apply the oil all over your body and the good news is that it continues to linger on the skin over time.

It comes in an opaque pink and white glass pump bottle, which is both aesthetically pleasing, while also having a generous heft to it. I love that this does an amazing job of keeping my skin smooth and soft and that you don't need many pumps to get the job done, but even when you get a little heavy handed with it, it still doesn't get overly greasy. This is a beautiful body oil, and I cannot love it enough! This retails for $85 for 100ml of product, and you can find it over here. What's your must have, can't live without Sol de Janeiro product?
