Review: Kit: Good Night Pillow Mist

Part of looking good is feeling good, and I don't know about you, but feeling good is definitely affected by a number of different factors, such as diet, exercise, stress and of course, the amount of sleep that I've managed to clock. I mean, there's always coffee, but that can only do so much for my brain, and it certainly doesn't help me much with my skin, unless it's incorporated into my skincare products! My problem isn't falling asleep - rather, it's that I don't tend to get enough hours of sleep, due to my perpetual desire to squeeze as many hours out of my day as possible, which means being both an early bird and a night owl, a combination that doesn't quite work.

The quality of sleep that I get is decent, but that can sometimes vary with work, amount of exercise, and other little factors that all add up. While seemingly insignificant, it certainly doesn't seem like that at around 2 in the morning, when I'm drifting into and out of sleep, trying not to think about the fact that I'd have to get up at 6 AM to head to work and look fresh, ready to take on consultations, procedures and difficult clients. I've used a few natural sleep aids in the past, and my favourite is always a good pillow mist - they always smell good, and they lull me to sleep with very little effort.

I've been using the Kit: Good Night Pillow Mist, which has been formulated with the hero ingredients of Tasmania lavender oil and steam-distilled cedarwood, with the goal of helping you unwind and relax, so that when you're ready, you can be carried away into the soothing darkness of the night, leaving all the stressors behind. To use this, simply mist your surroundings, including your pillows, sheets and the air around you, and then let it all settle, before leaning back and closing your eyes, taking it all soak in, so that your mind can stop racing.

I've had pillow mists that were primarily comprised of lavender, and while they were awesome, it's always fun to try something new, and that's certainly part of why I think I've really gravitated towards the Kit: Good Night Pillow Mist. This starts off with top notes of cardamon and spearmint, which caught me off guard initially - a slightly minty, spicy lift to begin with. Then, it drifts into lavender and patchouli, where the lavender does stand out. It then finishes with sandalwood, vanilla and amyris, where the sandalwood is the most notable for me.

This comes encased in a red glass bottle with a very misting spray, which really does put it out beautifully into the surroundings. If you're looking for a straight up lavender spray, this wouldn't be it, but if you're hoping for a lavender scented pillow mist that has a bit more of a pizazz, then you're in luck! This retails for $22 for 30 ml of product, and $45 for 100 ml of product, and you can find it over here. Is this a pillow mist that you'd be interested in?
