Review: Esmi Brightening Moisturiser

Merry Christmas, you gorgeous babes! I hope that while you've been busy living it up, and partying over the silly season, taking that much deserved break, you've also been taking care of yourself by doing sensible things. By that, I mean I hope you've been drinking lots of water, not just alcohol, and remember to take your makeup off at night and put on your moisturiser after a big day of socialising with people you love. Being busy often means that you may not have the chance to look after yourself quite as well as you'd like to, and to survive this hectic time of year, it's important to stay hydrated, both inside and out.

On that note, I'd like to welcome back the beautiful Esmi brand, which featured heavily in the early days on the blog, and spoiler - it's as good, and actually even better, than it was! I've been trying out the Esmi Brightening Moisturiser, and it's been a lovely experience! As someone who loves that good skin glow, I was keen to get a jar of the Brightening Moisturiser, but if you're looking to target other skin needs, there are six others to choose from! The Brightening Moisturiser is for those looking to help target uneven skin tone, reducing the appearance of pigmentation and skin dullness, so that you can end up with radiant, glowing skin.

The website also states that this is appropriate for babes that have various skin concerns, such as melasma, hormonal pigmentation, sun damage, ageing pigmentation, dullness and sallowness, this is the one for you! This moisturiser contains niacinamide to help improve the skin barrier, while also helping to even the skin tone. Ethyl ascorbic acid, which is a non-irritating form of vitamin C, is good for brightening the skin, and also for boosting collagen synthesis. There is also maracuja oil to help heal dry, chapped skin, and this also contains lycopene, which is an antioxidant, and can work in synergy with vitamin C to promote collagen production.

This comes in a jar with a screw top, and it holds about 50 ml of product, and retails for $79. This has a bit of a citrus scent to it, with a hint of sweetness, and save for a moment where, right after you've spread this over the skin and you're enveloped by a big hit of this fragrance, it doesn't tend to stick around for long. I find the texture of this to be quite thick, and somewhat similar to that of mash potato. It does thin out quite nicely with a bit of rubbing between your fingers, and spreads easily over the face, with absorption being relatively quick.

I have to say, this has been a great addition to the skincare rotation! I love that this has been great under my daily sunscreen, and as a moisturiser to help boost hydrating just before my overnight mask. I feel like this has been helping my skin look bright, keeping that luminous glow to the skin. It's a good moisturiser, and one that I'll be looking to finish. I also love that Esmi is more accessible than it used to be, with it now being available at Sephora, as well as on their own website. What's your all time favourite Esmi product?
