New Release: Bourjois Rouge Velvet the Lipstick Bastille Day Collection

Bonjour, my darlings! It's a beautiful Sunday, and what better day is there to talk about the new collection from Bourjois, particularly given that it is Bastille Day today?

There are 4 new parfait shades as part of the range, and I'm sure that they'll have you saying magnifique when you lay your eyes upon them! These are perfect Winter shades, starting with the soft purple Mauve-Martre (18), to the rosy plum Place des Roses (19). There is also a dark brown mauve French Opera (26) for the nights out on the town, and a surprising burnt orangey spicy red, Grande Roux (20) to help you work that pout.

Like the rest of the Rouge Velvet lipsticks in the collection, they have the same velvety texture that I've come to expect from the range. One swipe of the lipstick will give you decent colour payoff, even with the lighter shades. I find these to wear comfortably on the lips without drying them out, and the matte finish is just what I love, particularly for the colder months.

The thing that I find most interesting about the lipsticks is simply the shape of them. These have a very narrow, bevelled surface, which makes it quite tapered, and means that you can apply your lipstick without needing to really use a lip liner or lip brush. Fantastic for those on the go, or the lazy babes, like myself, who don't have a time to reach for that lip liner.

These retail for $24 and can be found at Priceline. For that beautiful Parisian pout, make sure you check out what the range has to offer!

What embodies Parisian beauty to you? What's your favourite Rouge Velvet shade?
