Review: Boe Professional Base Products *

This post should really be known as 'Acing your base with Boe Professional!', because that's exactly what it is. You might have read my thoughts on some fantastic lipsticks from the Boe Professional range, but just in case you haven't had the chance, you can head over here to have a look.

Today, we discuss a few other products I've tried from the range, namely, the ones you need to create your canvas.

I think everyone should be priming, and if you aren't, then, well, what are you doing?!?! All kidding aside, priming certainly makes a difference to my makeup to me in that my makeup holds better with primer in general.

This particular primer feels slightly tacky, which means that it feels like it can grip my foundation, if that makes sense. I really like the hold it has, and this retails for only $9.95 and it comes in a little squeezy tube with a screw cap that contains 25 ml of product. This is also meant to have aloe vera and sweet almond oil to help keep that complexion happy.

Like the primer, the radiant face illuminator also comes in a tube with a screw cap that has 25 ml of product. It also has aloe vera and sweet almond oil in it, which is great. What I really like about it, though, is that it's really NOT shimmery, but rather, adds another dimension simply by putting some glow into the skin. This means that you can wear this in an every day face without looking like you put any effort into it. Winning!

These retail for $.9.95 each.

The eye bright pen is pretty genius! This is one of those little clever little highlighting pens that you can twist and click to dispense the product. Not only that, it also contains shea butter, which means that it should hydrate the under eye area while it does it's job. It's easy to spread, but I do find that I need my beauty sponge to blend the product out. This may also be a little pink toned for me.

Just be careful about not creating reverse panda eyes (ie so lightened that there's a ring of light concealer around your eyes) with this one! This can be bought for $9.95.

The BB cream with concealer is actually really genius, in that it is one item that holds two products, AND a mirror! While the squeezy tube has a screw top to get the BB cream out, the top actually contains a little mirror and concealer, which has a nice consistency to it.

It comes in a total of three shades, of which I received medium, which is actually a little dark for my Winter skin!

This has a dewy finish, with medium coverage and is easy to blend. However, this may be a little too dewy for the oily-skinned girls - I found my make up to slide a little without powder on top, and I have normal skin. It might have a good reason to do so, though, with the amount of goodness in it, namely aloe vera, vitamin E, shea butter and vitamin C.

See how clever this is? I just love the design! This little tube of 2-in-1 retails for $12.95, and contains 35 ml of BB cream.

Setting powders are a necessity, even for someone like me who likes a dewy finish. This just ensures that things stay put! The high definition finishing powder is meant to be demi-matte, and I find that my skin still has a glow to it after powdering down, which is how I like it! I do use it very sparingly, however!

It has 15 g of product in a clear jar with a black screw top. You can find this for $9.95.

Primer; Illuminator; BB Cream; Eye Bright Pen

Don't let the swatches fool you - I can assure you that the illuminator does blend out really well without leaving a white streak!

You can find the whole Boe Beauty and Boe Professional ranges at Big W and don't forget - they are a cruelty free brand!

Has anything piqued your interest? What would you try first?

  3. I've been interested in the Boe face product range, especially the BB cream. Great reviews, very tempted to try them now!

  4. I am a big fan of 2in1 products, in fact, the most functions the better (apart from thin lizzy, i don't think you can use one powder as foundation, blush bronzer and lip colour)

  5. Great reviews. I'm personally not a huge fan of Boe... I really like some of their products, but others I have found to be a tad on the cheap side and not as good quality! May check some of these out though! xx

  7. I've only ever tried a BOE lipstick and it was pretty decent. I'm a little hesitant about trying the face products since my skin can be temperamental at times but the primer looks lovely :)
