Review: Naturium The Glow Getter Body Oil
This Summer has been a real mixed bag! We've gone from a chilly Christmas, where bundling up wasn't optional, and then swerved all the way around to being so dreadfully hot, people were being warned to stay indoors, or potentially get heat stroke. And of course, just like clockwork, it then dropped dramatically down to about 20 degrees celsius here in Sydney, and it's just kinda like having whiplash from the highs and lows that Sydney weather has served up in the span of 2 weeks. At this point, you just need to just keep all your clothes out, with nothing in storage, because who knows what kind of temperatures we're going to hit next?
Good skin, however, is year round, and while I might vary up what I prefer to slather over my skin depending on the temperatures we hit, I think I might have found something that's great, no matter how hot or cold it might be. The Glow Getter Body Oil by Naturium is marketed as a luxurious body oil that's meant to deeply moisturise the skin, while also helping to reinforce the skin's natural lipid layer, so that it doesn't just take care of the skin in the moment.
There are some really tasty key ingredients in it, such as squalene, which is great for helping reinforce the skin barrier, as well as having hydrating properties. It also contains rosehip oil, which can leave the skin feel soft, looking bright and rejuvenated. Additionally, there's jojoba oil for soothing and moisturising the skin, olive oil, which is rich in Vitamins A, D and E and sea buckthorn for it's healing and cell regeneration properties. On top of all that, it's also cruelty free and vegan, and you're meant to be left with luminous, firmer and replenished skin.
This antioxidant and linoleic-rich body oil comes in a frosted glass bottle with a white pull off cap, and it has a firm pump that gets out a nice amount each time. I find about six pumps to be sufficient for my body, and while it's quite an oily oil, by only using six pumps over the length of my body, this actually seems to dry down quite nicely without leaving the skin feeling sticky or unpleasantly greasy. It also has a bit of a light, kinda fruity scent to it, which is almost, but not quite, coconutty.
I find this to be quite nourishing for my skin. I needed a bit of extra tender loving care recently, after receiving a bit too much sun, thanks to me not being sensible and topping up my sunscreen, and this definitely soothed my skin and made it come back to life, after my terrible neglect. It's currently available for $47 for 100ml of product at Sephora, and it's been a lovely oil to use! Have you tried anything from Naturium?
