Review: Dr G Brightening Peeling Gel

Let's talk about what your skin needs this Summer. It needs sunscreen, always, and it needs a hit of moisture. It also needs the actives and ingredients that your skin type and goals call for, and for me, that would be Vitamins C and A, as well as niacinamide, as well as some hyaluronic acid. Aside from layering your skin with all that TLC and smothering it in serums and creams, you also need to consider what it means for you when you're looking to refresh your skin, and take things off at the end of the day. For me, that means using the Dr G Brightening Peeling Gel!

What exactly is this, and why should you consider adding it into your routine? This is said to be a low irritation brightening peeling gel for tired, sensitive and hyperpigmented skin - essentially, it's a cleanser that's meant to exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin, while also leaving it looking radiant. It is supposed to help remove dead skin cells through the use of low, medium and high cellulose particle concentrations, allowing for better penetration of the active ingredients into the skin, so you can follow this up with your favourite serum and let it get to work.

This also has HyalVita, which is made up of low molecular weight hyaluronic acid and patented Vitamin C, so that the peeling gel can also moisturise and revitalise the skin, while revealing a fresh layer of skin, after gently removing the dead skin cells over them. The formula also includes aqua ceramide to help the skin barrier, and hydrate it. This comes in a baby blue firm tube with a flip lid, making it really easy to get the product out.

This comes out as a white gel with a medium, somewhat lumpy consistency and all you have to do to use it is to massage this into wet skin, and work it into the face in rotational strokes. You can feel something clumping together on the surface of the skin, and once you're ready, simply wash it off. This doesn't leave a trace of product on the skin, and I like that my skin does feel and look smoother, and that this doesn't have any scent to it at all.

I also appreciate that this is very gentle on my skin, and it doesn't leave it feeling uncomfortable or dry. It's recommended for all skin types, including babes who are prone to acne. This retails for about $45, and honestly, this has strengthened my love for the brand. If you haven't already checked out my other posts for Dr G, make sure you do! You can find them over here, here and here. What would you love to see from this gorgeous K-beauty brand next?
