Review: Alpha-H Firming Collagen Repair Cream
As 2025 starts to wind down, with less than 2 months to go to Christmas, it's about now that I start to think of what products that I've tried this year. If there's one brand that's been knocking it out of the park this year, it has to be Alpha-H! I've been really blown away by all the body care products that they've been churning out, including their latest one, the Firming Peptide Body Oil with Hexapeptide-8, and they've now dropped a new face moisturiser, the Alpha-H Firming Collagen Repair Cream!
I can tell that Spring has well and truly hit, and it's not just from the beautiful days we've been having, filled with warmth and sunshine. No, it's from the erratic weather changes, the windy days that have whipped a load of allergens right into my face when I've popped outside to get some fresh air, and the accompanying eczema that crops up as a reaction to stress and unseen things that have blown into my eyes. Spring is certainly not my friend on a lot of days, as much as I try to embrace and love it, and if there's any time of year when I could use a better skin barrier, this is it!
The Firming Collagen Repair Cream is marketed as a water-in-oil texture moisturiser that both hydrates the skin, while also being helpful for protecting it, by serving as a barrier repair cream. This is designed to be used twice daily, and it's also meant to help target fine lines and wrinkles, help manage the loss of elasticity, soothe redness and irritation, while keeping the skin firm, in addition to combating dryness and dehydration. There are some gorgeous hero ingredients, such as Vitamin E, collagen amino acids, a ceramide complex and panthenol.
There's also centella asiatica, which, aside from soothing the skin and calming irritation, has lots of antioxidants to fight free radicals, and hydrating properties. All of that comes packaged in a white tub with pull off lid that feels quite secure, but isn't difficult to remove, and you'll find an opening in the middle of the jar once you take it off. To use this, place a finger on either side of the opening, and simply push down, as the top level acts as a pump. A cream of medium consistency comes out, and this spreads over the skin beautifully.
This makes my skin feel really soft and lovely, and it doesn't react with anything else I layer with it. I love that with this helping my barrier function, it also means that my skin should stay moisturised for longer with less water loss. I have noticed that since using this, on 11 hour (sometimes 12 hour) days, my skin doesn't feel as dry or look as dull, which is nice. This has a light vanilla fragrance to it, which doesn't linger. Both vegan and cruelty free, this cream is now available for $89.95 at various retailers, including their own online store over here. Do you use a barrier repair product?
