Review: Straand The Crown Cleanse Concentrated Anti-Dandruff Prebiotic Shampoo

New brand alert! It's been forever since my last shampoo/conditioner post, so this has been way overdue. It has to be said, however, that it's weird, but I'm simply doing a review on one half of what usually comes as a duo. Today, I talk about a brand that is carried in Sephora that I'm still in the midst of exploring, and that brand is Straand. I love that the name alone lets you know what the brand is about, particularly when there are so many haircare brands on the market.

Straand is an Australian made hair care line with a team of five Aussies running the brand. Much like a lot of skincare brands are currently doing at the moment, they are focusing on the root (pun totally intended) of the matter, which is really the scalp, and how improving that can help with the overall health of your hair. While dandruff isn't an issue that I often have to tackle, I do get the occasional itchy scalp during the cold, dry months, which make sense, as the skin of my scalp is reacting like the skin on my face, and that everything tends to be more dehydrated then.

The Straand Crown Cleanse Concentrated Anti-Dandruff Prebiotic Shampoo is designed to be gentle enough to be used daily. This has been formulated with prebiotics to help get rid of buildup, reduce itching and irritation, resulting in the resolution of dandruff, all while rebalancing the scalp's microbiome. This is meant to help leave your hair full and glossy, as well as feeling smooth and silky. It has rosebay extract to help regulate malassezia (which is a fungus that can be found at part of the normal microbiome), which can lead to dandruff by reducing sebum production.

There's also panthenol, which is helpful strengthening the hair, thereby reducing breakages and hair loss, as well as boost volume. Hydrolyzed wheat protein is included to help eliminate frizz and tangles, strengthening hair, while also giving it some shine. Last but not least, there's also polquaternium-10, which can help improve hair texture, as well as adding some bounce and sheen. Specifically for those who have hair concerns like dandruff, suffer from a dry scalp and frizz, as well as scalp build up, this is also good for a variety of hair types, ranging from curly and coloured, through to dry, fine, medium, oil, thick and wavy.

This has a slightly, just about minty scent to it, but it doesn't result in my scalp feeling tingly. Instead, I find that this has been great for reducing the discomfort that creeps up on me when it's been getting a little itchy and unhappy. This doesn't sud up like a lot of other shampoos, but it does leave my hair feeling like it's been sufficiently cleansed. It's a handy shampoo to have waiting in the wings for when you need it! Straand is currently available at Sephora. What's on your Straand must try list?
