Review: Skinfix Foaming Oil Cleanser

It's been official for a while - Sephora is great for my skin, but not so good for my bank account! Honestly, there are many moments when I've clicked pay, and regretted it at that time, after checking out my balance, then justifying my treat yo'self impulse purchase, before falling in love with my latest acquisition. It's a roller coaster ride, all without having to step outside the house! Does that count as cardio in any way, shape or form? Asking for a friend.

Honestly, though, I always feel like I find something great whenever I purchase products from Sephora, so really, no regrets overall! Most recently, as a little gift to myself around my birthday, which is also when Sephora doles out a little present, I bought the Skinfix Foaming Oil Cleanser, because, let's face it - I'm a sucker for a good promotion (double points on purchases around your birthday!) and a gift with purchase! I primarily wanted to try Skinfix, as it's a brand that was totally new to me. In a nutshell, they are a company that strives to be sustainable, while creating products that are backed by science.

From browsing their website, it feels very much like the core of what they stand for is better skin through the strengthening of the barrier, and that's such a good way to look at achieving great skin! For my first foray into the brand, I thought I'd go for the Foaming Oil Cleanser, which is a sulfate free foaming cleanser that's appropriate for sensitive skin, and it's designed to remove first, makeup and oil, while also reducing visible redness, all without stripping the oils from your skin. This is a pH-balanced milky cleanser that is also supposed to help keep the skin hydrated and smooth, improving the skin texture.

This comes in an opaque blue bottle with a pump that you can lock by twisting one way, preventing accidental leakages, which happens way more than I'd like. The ingredients list is a little mysterious, but it does include coconut, which can be quite good at keeping the skin smooth and protected, as well as something called Triple Lipid Complex™ technology, which is supposed to replenish the skin's lipids, including ceramides, and help improve skin barrier function. As someone who has a bit of eczema, I'm all for better barrier function!

This comes out as quite a runny, white cleanser that doesn't foam like other cleansers do. Instead, it's almost like it's an already emulsified oil cleanser, and it has a silky, soft consistency on the skin. I love that this doesn't leave the skin feeling dry and overly cleansed, if that makes sense? It doesn't quite stand up against mascara, unfortunately, so you'd need to do a two-step cleanse on the skin, or you won't be able to get out of the shower without looking like a panda. It's not particularly expensive, and sits at $52 for 177ml of product, making it quite affordable. It's been helping me battle against allergens this time of year, and I've been enjoying it's addition into the skincare rotation. If you're after something gentle on the skin, and does a pretty decent job of removing the day from your face, this should be up for consideration - find them over here! What have you been using?
