Review: The Great State Soothing Skin Balm
Being out of lockdown means being back on the go for a lot of us, and that also means that it's really helpful to have an all rounder product that we can have multiple uses for. Think of the humble paw paw ointment - not only does it come in a travel friendly tube, so that it can be chucked into your bag to accompany you to all your many activities and events, but you can use it for all sorts of things, from bug bites, to being a moisturiser. Well, now, consider The Great State to be the upgrade that we're all in need of!
The Great State is a fragrance free, Australian made balm that comes in a blue tin. Coming in at 70g for $32, which you can purchase over here, this is filled with natural and organic ingredients to love your skin as much as you do. Containing jojoba oil for those moisturising properties, as well as avocado oil to assist in soothing dry skin, these are also filled with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants for fighting those free radicals while providing nourishment.
There is also shea butter, which is steeped in essential fatty acids, as well as vitamins A and E. There's also organic beeswax to act as an emollient and humectant, softening the skin while helping to absorb water. When put together, this solid balm is brilliant for a number of different functions, including, but not limited to:
- Moisturising lips
- Boosting a moisturiser lotion
- Insect bites
- Dry patches of skin and cracked heels
- Board rash and chafe
My favourite use for it is to add a little bit of gloss on the go - a quick swipe of this before gliding it over my cheekbones can place a bit of a glow in all the right places. My elbows are also loving the way it feels on my skin, and the patch of skin that is thirsty for it the most is the bit on my shin that contacts the pole in my pole dancing classes regularly, and is always in need of some extra attention! If you're after a multi-purpose balm, this is one to add to your must try list!
I was given a jar as a present 2 years ago, I had a skin soreness on my right hand which I had acquired in india 4 years before that. I had been to skin specialists and multiple creams mainly steroids, were used but it would abate but not heal, i used great state for 1 month putting it on at night and covering in a glove, it completely cleared up, occasionally I have a dryness but applying the cream for a couple of nights and it is gone. The specialist thought it a form of ezyma but were not sure as i got it in 3rd world. Anyway thanks for the cure. Jill
