Review: Medik8 Advanced Day Ultimate Protect

It's always a good mail day when a Medik8 parcel lands on my desk, and I was really excited when I unwrapped it to find the Advanced Day Ultimate Protect. As you may be aware, our little fiery ball in the sky, which makes plants and cats so happy, is also a major factor in ageing our skin by wrecking some tremendous damage. As such, particularly now that we're just adjacent to Summer, it's more important than ever to take care of your skin, shielding it from the harsh rays of sun.

Retailing for $127 for 50 ml of product, this comes in a tube with a pump, which means that you can still control the amount of lotion that comes out of it, while standing it up on your dresser. Designed to be the skincare warrior that you need in your arsenal, this features protection from blue light, infrared light, glycation and pollution. This also contains encapsulated photolyase, which, according to their website, is a light-activated DNA repair enzyme, and this helps to support the skin's natural repair mechanisms after exposure to UV.

This also has squalene and multi-weight hyaluronic acid among the ingredients listed, to help hydrate and nourish the skin, as they help to support the skin barrier. The carnosine in the product battles glycation, while the blueberry seed oil assists in providing a shield against blue light, in addition to being rich in beta carotene. Marrubium vulgare extract acts as an antioxidant to help battle against those terrible free radicals, and of course, there are those advanced sunscreen filters to protect your skin against the harsh sun rays.

There are a lot of good buzz words when it comes to this product, but is it actually any good? This just in - you bet it is! This sunscreen is white and relatively creamy, and while it has a similar consistency to that of the filling you'd find in Kinder Bueno, it does get absorbed quite nicely without leaving a white cast on the skin. I love that this leaves my skin feeling soft and looked after.

As someone who deeply believes in sunscreen on a daily basis, I love that this incorporates all of these other clever ingredients, so that it also looks after your skin in all sorts of other ways. If you're keen to try this for yourself, make sure you check out their website! What are you loving from Medik8?
