Review: Antipodes Culture Probiotic Night Recovery Water Cream

I think I get unnaturally excited about a brand that is this good, naturally! I mean, if this is your first time to the blog, then, yes, I can forgive you for not knowing who Antipodes is, and why they are so awesome, but if not - have you been paying attention, man? Of course you have heard me, or rather read, waxing lyrical about Antipodes and you'd better strap yourself in, because there is going to be a deluge of praise raining down on y'all about their Culture Probiotic Night Recovery Water Cream!

What exactly is this, and why should you be a keen bean about trying it? This combines two key ingredients that will love your skin as much as a skincare product can - Hyaluronic Acid derived from plant-base sources for hydration, while Kalibio AGE Probiotic, purported to be a high-performing innovative compound that helps to strengthen the skin carrier as it increases skin elasticity and hydration, also reduces roughness and redness. Suitable for all skin types, this night moisturiser, which includes the New Zealand mamaku black fern among the ingredient list,  promises a few things, but does it deliver?

Short answer - YES! Long answer - let's have a chat! Like a lot of their moisturisers, this comes in an amber jar with a screw lid, and the jar is made of glass, which has a nice heft to it. When you open it, you're faced with a light, almost whipped-looking cream that has a lilac hue. The texture of this is not quite gel-like, but it's not very creamy either, which does make it live up to the water cream claim on the bottle. It is moisturising, light, and doesn't leave you greasy, while not making it seem like all the product has just been absorbed into the skin.

I feel like this is very light, while still doing an excellent job of moisturising my skin, which makes it a pretty ideal cream for this time of year. When I wake up in the morning and wash my face, there is a little film of product that I can feel coming away with the water, which makes me feel like this doesn't just dissipate into nothing overnight. Rather, it feels like this ends up getting soaked up by the skin, so that it works it's magic as you rest, covering the skin with a layer of goodness.

For those who are wondering, this is a certified vegan product, and as always, Antipodes uses recyclable boxes made from 100% biodegradable cardboard that comes from sustainable forests, and all labels and boxes are printed with 100% eco ink from vegetables. If you're after more information about this product, head to their website, or grab a jar for yourself from retailers like David Jones, Adore Beauty or Priceline!
