Celebrate National Recycling Week with EcoTools

Hi, my lovely babes! Now, I know that National Recycling Week happened last week, and that here at Temporary Princess, we are just a wee bit behind, but better late than never, and I believe in using my virtual soapbox for something good, so we're about something that we should be aware about today!

First of all, who here knew that National Recycling Week existed, and more importantly, who was aware that it happened last week? I'm going to be honest and say that I didn't, and while I've always been a big advocate of recycling and looking after Mother Earth, I also didn't pay as much attention, or make as much of an effort as I do today. But more on that later!

EcoTools grabbed the bull by it's horns this year by creating compostable packing, which is cool, but not necessarily mind blowing, but with a twist! The packaging has also been infused with plantable seeds, so that it's the gift that keeps on giving, with the promise of flowering beautiful blooms, creating goodness, and not waste. Additionally, the new packaging is FSC certified, which is considered the top tier certification for wood harvester from forests that are responsibly managed, socially beneficial, environmentally conscious and economically viable. This packaging is here to stay, which means that it will be rolled out over the next few months across the entire range, and you'll see less of the original packaging as stocks run low.

Exactly what is EcoTools pledging to achieve at this point? They are looking at making some excellent changes, including:

  • All packaging to be made out of their FSC certified paper, created with plant-based material, printed with soy ink and sealed using biodegradable glue by 2021.
  • Each pack will include a plantable seeded sticker, and when planted, the paper packaging will naturally decompose.
  • The brushes are comprised of cruelty free bristles, recycled aluminium and renewable bamboo materials.
  • The sponges are made using USDA certified EcoFoam technology, which is actually a sugarcane bio-based material.
  • All bath and body items are made using ethically harvester plant-based or recycled materials.
  • The range is 100& vegan, cruelty free, PETA certified and never tested on animals.

While they are still slowly getting these out into Priceline and Big W stores at this point, you can find the new packaging on the EcoTools Full Powder Brush and EcoTools Perfecting Blender Duo online now. I love that there is a brand out there that is doing something so clever and wonderful! What do you think of this initiative?
