Review: Medik8 Oxy-R Peptides High-Strength Oxyresveratrol Brightening Peptide Serum

Happy Monday, my little cats! For the lucky ones, some of us may still be on leave (and that includes me for a change!), and for the poor few that may be back in the office/store/clinic, thanks for covering the shifts so that the rest of us can have a chance to chill out! Speaking of business, let's get onto some good stuff. Medik8 has been doling out some amazing products over the years, and you can now add the Medik8 Oxy-R Peptides High-Strength Oxyresveratrol Brightening Peptide Serum to the list!

Touted to help address skin concerns like hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone and post inflammatory pigmentation, this contains 1% Oxyresveratrol, which is apparently the highest available strength on the market. That sounds cool and all, but what does it really do? Among it's benefits is it's ability to block the function of tyrosinase, which is the main enzyme responsible for the production of melanin, thus reducing the formation of pigmentation.

This also has two other peptides to help take care of hyperpigmentation - Tetrapeptide-30 and Acetyl Glycyl Beta-Alanine. The former interrupts the pathways that lead to discolouration and uneven skin tone, while the latter aids in stopping the transport of melanin to the skin cell, which would otherwise translate to the overproduction of pigment, and therefore, visible pigmentation on the skin. Together, all three peptides work in synergy to prevent the formation of hyperpigmentation, thereby improving the clarity and tone of skin, resulting in a brighter complexion.

The one thing that I really like about Medik8, aside from the obvious one where their products work incredibly well on me, is that they break down the science behind the products, and explain it in a way that makes sense. I love that this comes in two separate vials of 10ml each that get activated once you pop the top (don't forget to shake the bottle), thus managing to keep it stable for a certain period of time. The design alone has earned brownie points when it comes to me.

Medik8 also provides a dropper bottle top that allows you to control the amount you want each time. The texture is watery, and it gets absorbed in a snap. I have been using this in conjunction with Vitamin C, and I honestly feel like this has resulted in smoother, happier skin and is also brighter. It's a seriously potent little booster that helps to take my skin to the next level. This retails for $124, and you can find out more about this on their website. What has been your favourite peptide creation from Medik8?
