Review: Mukti Organics Deep Cleanse Antioxidant Masque

It's a new day, and the start of a new week! If there's one thing that you need to consider doing this week, it's making sure that you take a few minutes of time for yourself, and indulge in a little something extra for your skin. For me, that's always a face mask, and over the last few weeks, I've been trying out the Mukti Organics Deep Cleanser Antioxidant Masque, which has come at no better time than right now, at the very height of Summer.

Retailing for $84.95, this black jar of goodness contains 100g of gooey gorgeousness. It's a clay mask that isn't like anything I've ever tried before, and is a fun departure from the usual (but lovely) pink clay masks that are very popular on the market. This is designed to help purify and detoxify the skin, while treating it to smothering it in essential minerals and phytonutrients.

This has fine white argiletz clay for helping to balance oil production, while kakadu plum, which is rich in Vitamin C, brightens the skin and improves the skin tone. Banksia and silky oil grass help to remove dead skin cells, and reduce the appearance of oil on the skin by promoting moisture absorption. Extracts from green tea, tamanu, chia seed and pomegranate provide antioxidants and essential fatty acids, while sea buckthorn berries help with the skin barrier and add luminosity to the complexion. On top of all that, this also has papaya to help exfoliate the skin.

The jar is heavy with a screw lid, and I love how reassuringly firm it is. This has a very 'botanical' fragrance, and the mask is a very pretty green. The mask itself isn't smooth - instead, there are small beads of jojoba esters in it to help you retain moisture, which you are meant to gently break down and massage into the skin after about 15 - 20 minutes of leaving it on your face. It's comfortable to wear, and it doesn't seem to dry down at all.

My skin appreciates the masque, with it leaving my face feeling smooth and looking bright. I love this for the Summer, with me having normal skin generally, but the humidity lending to a slightly oilier texture that can also be a little dehydrated with all the harsh sunlight that my skin gets. This is a great little treat for my skin at the end of a very long and sticky day! You can find it over here on their website. What is your favourite Summer mask?
