Review: Anthogenol Anti-Ageing Facial Serum

With Winter marching along, people falling sick with the common cold and flu (and let's not even talk about the C word - fine, COVID, there you are), I feel like I need some absolute looking after to keep my skin happy now, more than ever. With that in mind, I have been leaping on just about anything with the word 'anti-ageing' in it.

And that's why we're talking about Anthogenol's Anti-Ageing Facial Serum today! Anthogenol is the result of one man's hard work, and that person would be Professor Jack Masquelier, who spent his scientific career developing, perfecting and researching OPCs, which is Oligomeric Proanthocyanidins - a bit of a mouthful, but what this really is, is a pretty potent antioxidant. Not found naturally generated in the human body, nor can they be synthetically produced, these free radical fighters, which are extracted from grape seeds, can reduce inflammation and therefore, reduce associated tissue damage. On top of that, OPCs have also been found to help support healthy circulation, the cardiovascular system, and hair, skin and nails.

What exactly should we be expecting from OPCs in the Anthogenol Anti-Ageing Facial Serum? It's supposed to combat skin ageing by improving skin brightness, increasing skin hydration while protecting collagen and elastin in the skin and decreasing the severity of skin pigmentation. Made in Australia from vegan friendly ingredients, and cruelty free, this serum is free from synthetic fragrances, parabens, silicones and harsh detergents.

It comes in a blue and white bottle with a silver accent, and has clean lines, which makes it pretty to look at - an added bonus! The serum looks slightly creamy, and I love that this has a relatively thin consistency, which makes absorption a breeze. This has helped in calming a little spot of irritation and inflammation above my right eye, and has assisted in maintaining the general good state of my skin. It won't be long before get to the end of this!

Retailing for $99.95, you can find it online at the Anthogenol website, or in store at Chemist Warehouse. How do you battle the hands of time?
