Review: Avene Sunscreen Emulsion SPF 50+

We're in really strange times currently, where we're being told to stay at home and that there are plenty of stores that are shut as well, but we are seeing an upswing in the number of people heading out to exercise and walk around. This means that we can end up with quite a bit of human activity out and about, with everyone just scrabbling for a bit of normalcy in our lives right now. And on that note, you've gotta remember that if you're headed out during the day, you've gotta slather on some sunscreen!

Say hello to the Avene Sunscreen Emulsion SPF 50+! I've been absolutely loving this for my daily face cream - SPF 50+ and it doesn't mix with my skincare at all! Winning!

This comes in the type of packaging that would be familiar to those who know the range. It comes in a tube with a clear plastic cap, and a pump to control the amount of fluid that you get out of it. I find about two pumps to be adequate to cover my face and part of my decolletage. The product itself is white, and while it lives up to the emulsion texture that you'd expect, as advertised on the tube, this does leave you with a bit of a white caste. I really like the texture - it's not thick, and can, in fact, be a little runny, and at least with the resulting colour being obvious on the skin, you can tell if you've managed to cover all the parts of your face. Reducing the chances of getting sunburnt? Yeah, you bet!

If you're covering it up with makeup, then this isn't a problem at all. If you're headed out bare faced, you're going to have to wait a little longer, and it does fade, which is great. I also love that this doesn't have the classic sunscreen scent, while offering broad-spectrum UVB and UVA protection. This is also water resistant, and has a mattifying effect, which is particularly great for the babes that can get a little oily.

If it's sounding pretty good so far, that's because it IS really good! Just head to where Avene is available, including Priceline, Chemist Warehouse and online retailers, like Adore Beauty, and pick one up for yourself!
