Review: Lancome Energie De Vie Liquid Care *

I feel like Lancome has been very busy shaking things up recently, and their new range is no exception!  The Energie De Vie range was created to combat urban fatigue, and this collection is comprised of three different products - the smoothing and plumping Pearly Lotion, smoothing and glow-boosting Liquid Care and overnight recovery Sleeping Mask. Urban fatigue is best seen in Gen Y-ers who are constantly juggling various personal and professional projects, keeping up a social media presence, staying out late at night (whether due to a new baby, or post work drinks) and all while still carrying out their daily jobs.

The premise of the Energie De Vie range is to simplify the skincare routine while still remaining effective. This is meant to combat the signs of ageing, reversing what can still be turned around at this point, especially those contributed to by fatigue. Hence, this whole range is filled French lemon balm, goji berries and Gentian root extract.

The Liquid Care has been shown to reduce water loss by about 17% and reinforces the skin's barrier function. Doing so, it helps to retain moisture in the skin and to improve it's self-defence. Thanks to the goji berries and lemon balm, the antioxidants battle the effects of free radicals, while the Gentian root gives it an energy boost.

Liquid Care is meant to be as fresh as a lotion, concentrated as a serum and moisturising as a cream. I've been using this steadily for a few weeks now, and it doesn't disappoint! This comes in a clear glass bottle with a transparent plastic cap, and the pump makes it easy to get the serum out.

To me, the serum smells faintly like aloe vera, and has a slightly viscous texture, which does moisturise quite nicely, and gets absorbed really easily. It does leave my skin feeling smooth and soft, as well as adding a hint of a glow to it, just perfect for the coming warmer months! I appreciate a moisturising product that is still light, while infusing the face with supple plumpness.

For $75, you can pick this up 50 ml bottle at a Lancome counter.

  2. You make it sound so delish TP, and what a gorgeous colour! In the past my fave has been Visionnaire, closely followed by the Teint Visionnaire foundation. Their skin care has always been too rich for me (makes my pores clog up) but this might just be the go - I want it real bad ha ha xxx

  3. Lancôme always product gorgeous products (a part from the juicy tubes which I wasn't a big fan of). This sounds lovely, I love the smell of aloe drinks (although real aloe plants make me feel sick lol)

    1. I love the Juicy Tubes! All the gloss, but also, sadly, all the sticky!
