BeautyHeaven Beauty Degustation!

I was one of the very lucky ladies invited to head to BeautyHeaven HQ recently to join in the Beauty Degustation. I had to swap a work weekend in order to go, but boy, was it worth it!

Things kicked off around 12.45, and finished at 3 PM, by which time we were all blissed out and excited about going home to paw through our goodie bags (I was, at least, and boy, what a goodie bag!).

I was part of group 2, starting off at the L'Oreal stand, where I was colour matched to an Infallible foundation, which should be arriving in the mail soon. I was told that I was actually in between the shades (damn this time of year!), but I could go a little warmer. I hope that means I won't look like I'm wearing a mask! I'm sure it'd be lovely - I can't wait to see how it goes on my skin!

Sorry for the lack of pictures of the different stations - I was just so excited the entire time that I just spent most of the time gawking!

We then headed to the L'Occitane station, where they went through some of their skincare products, and gifted a small sample jar of their lotion. After that, we sat down as a little group and painted our nails. We got to pick some gorgeous colours out of a little basket.

I went with an ELES polish, as I had heard so much about it, but never tried it, and did a feature nail with a layer of Ciate glitter. We got to keep some of them when the event ended - I even managed to pick up the one I was using!

Isn't that gorgeous? For anyone who's curious, it's 5 free, has a wide brush, and really easy to use!

After that, we had a bit of a guess the scent competition, where you had to guess what the notes were in the scents. 4 very lovely and lucky ladies won them - well deserved, as I sadly discovered that my nose wasn't quite as fantastic as I thought it was!

Our group then ended with getting our hair done at the Schwarzkopf stand, where I got a bit of extra body added to my tresses. Pretty!

There were little trays of food that went around the place, and I learned that I could eat mini burgers while my nails were drying WITHOUT ruining them. Go me!

After all of that pampering, we still managed to go home with some lovely goodies - lucky us!

I want to take this moment to thank BeautyHeaven for making it such a lovely experience, and for being so generous with the gift packs. Additionally, to all the wonderful women I met that day, thank you for being so friendly! There's something about stepping into a room and striking up a friendly conversation with a perfect stranger, knowing that you're bonded by your love for beauty and beauty products.

I look forward to meeting both unfamiliar and familiar faces in the future - fingers crossed there's another event on the horizon in the not so distant future, perhaps?

  3. Pity about the smelling station, but surely in your line of work it would be a disadvantage having a greatly acute sense of smell!! ;)
