Review: Being Max Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner

Thanks to our recent spate of public holidays, I was inspired (read: had too much time on my hands, and nothing planned, and you know what they say about the devil's playground) to refresh my hair colour. This, of course, resulted in me burning my scalp by bleaching my hair twice to get the desired shade of blonde, stripping my hair of all of it's natural colour, as well as fake colour, then going over it with a very vivid and vibrant purple. As a result, while the colour is stunning, my hair is feeling the effects of being worked over a little, and it could use a bit of TLC.

Recently, I received a mysterious package in the mail, and I opened it to find some little stunners from Being Haircare, which I was excited to see, because I felt like it basically dropped into my lap at the right time! What's more is that I was sent the Max Moisture range, which, if given the chance, would have been the one I'd have picked if I had been asked, as my hair is currently so thirsty, it's practically flammable, like kindling, from how dry it is.

Who is Being? It's a community-led hair care brand that's designed to enhance and finesse what you have, so that you can have your best hair now! The range is pretty easy to understand - they are colour coded, so that you can pick up what works best for you. The Max Moisture range is a strong green, and there's blue for Nourish + Shine, yellow for Big Hair, magenta for Bye Bye Frizz, and lilac for Curl Power. The Max Moisture Intense Moisturising Shampoo and Conditioner are best for those with dry hair, or babes with coily, type 4A-4C, hair, in need of a hit of hydration.

They are appropriate for daily use, and these come as probably the largest squeezy tubes I've ever seen for a shampoo and conditioner duo, sitting at 354ml per bottle! I love that this line uses cocoa butter for nourishing and hydrating the strands, while oat extract acts on combating dryness and frizz. With these as the main ingredients to keep the hair happy, it sounds like achieving nourished and hydrated hair is just within reach.

I love how frothy the shampoo gets, and how well it seems to clean my hair without making it feel squeaky clean and not stripping my hair of it's oils. The conditioner feels comfortable on my hair and scalp, and I love that this does seem to leave my hair with some body. However, it doesn't seem to deal with the frizz that I've encountered since bleaching and dyeing my hair quite as well as I would like, which is a bit of a bummer, but not a deal breaker. Certainly, for $13 each, and having been on sale previously at half off at Woolworths, it's a very affordable pair! Read more about Being over here. What range would you pick?

  1. Thank you for sharing your experience with the Being Max Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner! It's great to see how well they work for your dry, bleached hair. The inclusion of cocoa butter and oat extract sounds like a nourishing combination.
For those looking to further enhance their hair care routine, especially when dealing with hair damage or thinning, the Hair Prayer Pure Hair Growth Serumcould be a beneficial addition.
