Review: Esmi Strawberry and Rose Oil
Now, face oils can be a tricky beast. I think the earlier generations of could be sticky, and somewhat cloying products, which didn't always work as well on my skin as they do now, but it was certainly still worth using then, and even more so now. The Esmi Strawberry and Rose Oil, which I primarily picked for the fragrance notes, and turned out to be me backing the right horse, is a prime example of what you can expect from modern oils, in that this is everything I was hoping for it to be, without costing me the earth.
So, what exactly is it, and why should you be interested? The Esmi Strawberry and Rose Oil, which is cruelty free, vegan and made in Australia, is meant to help nourish, soften and moisturise the skin, with just the application of two to three drops once daily. It's also meant to brighten the skin, increase hydration, minimise the appearance of pores, while also soothing and calming it, as well as acting as an antioxidant to help fight free radicals, and therefore, the signs of ageing. Additionally, this is meant to help support collagen production, and for babes prone to blemishes and tend to shy away from oil for fear that face oils would make it worse, this is said to be good for those with acne concerns.
As someone with normal to dry skin, I can also attest to this being great for those outside of the acne prone category! There are a few key ingredients that help to deliver the desired results, including strawberry extract, which is stuffed with Vitamin C, as well as Rosa Centifolia (which is also known as rosehip), which as soothing properties, reducing inflammation and redness. There is also squalene, which can help minimise the appearance of fine lines and promote a healthy skin barrier. It also includes Jojoba Seed Oil, which is great for conditioning and hydrating the skin.
This comes in a glass bottle with a dropper that has decent suction, which makes me happy in that I don't have to struggle to get the product out, while also meaning that this can be recycled once I'm done with it. The oil itself is quite light to apply, which I love, and it doesn't settle uncomfortably on the skin. I love that this sinks into the skin, and the scent is both sweet and floral. My skin seems to appreciate it, with it looking bright and feeling conditioned. Overall, it's a fabulous oil, and for only $65, I think it's worth investing in. It's currently available both on the Esmi website and Sephora, which is where I obtained it from. What was the last Esmi product you picked up?
