Review: Alpha-H Liquid Gold + Vitamin C

I don't want to cause mass panic, but there is a good chance that I've found something that everyone needs to be adding to their shopping list! We all know, and very likely love, Alpha-H and their original Liquid Gold - at the very least, you'd have heard about it over the last few years, and for a very good reason! A gentle exfoliator, designed to help rejuvenate and revitalise skin, resulting in a brighter and smoother complexion, there is now a step up from that - please welcome the Alpha-H Liquid Gold + Vitamin C!

 

Created to give your skin the brightest boost yet, the Liquid Gold Exfoliating Treatment with Vitamin C combines the exfoliating power of 5% Glycolic Acid and the brightening effects of Vitamin C, and these are enhanced by the low pH delivery system. It's meant to help with improving the look of fine lines and wrinkles, eliminating dullness and pigmentation, while also sorting out uneven skin tone and texture. This has been made to accomodate all skin types looking to dial up the brightness, while maintaining healthy looking skin.

To achieve those skincare goals outlined above, it does so by buffing away dead skin cells, which in turn prepares it for optimal Vitamin C uptake. It all sounds great, but exactly how do you use it? I remember being a little confused by it initially when I started using the original version, so I'll walk you through it. It's part of my night time routine, and best used on it's own (that's right, no serum/oil/moisturiser), but you can reach for your oil/moisturiser if you're prone to dry skin. It's best for your skin to use 3 alternate nights a week, and you can spread this over the skin of the face, neck and decolletage to get the most bang for your buck.

 

While you can pop a small amount of this onto a cotton pad or a reusable one, I prefer the method of placing some into the palm of my hand, before pressing this into my skin, right after cleansing my face. Very much like the original Liquid Gold, this comes in an opaque white bottle with a screw cap, and a little opening at the top that allows you to get the product out. It takes a few taps to get out the amount that's appropriate for the surface area I'm trying to cover, and I like that this isn't messy.

 

This has been phenomenal for my skin! I honestly feel like this has been keeping my skin really smooth, and bright, which I absolutely adore! It also feels like it's been helping my level up my skincare game by allowing for easier penetration of my other bits of skincare, and I really like how my skin tone is looking more even as a result of continued use. It's currently available for just about $77, and it's so accessible, given that it's available at Mecca, Adore Beauty and TVSN, to name a few.
