Review: Anastasia Beverly Hills Shimmer Body Oil

Have you ever scrolled through a website, not looking to buy anything in particularly, when something beautiful caught your eye, resulting in an 'Add to cart' situation, and the depletion of your funds? Say hello to the irresistibly beautiful Anastasia Beverly Hills Shimmer Body Oil, the jewel of my body oil collection! This is available at Mecca, as well as Adore Beauty, which is where I actually purchased it recently, when they had a very good GWP happening!

At one glance, you can already tell that my shiny magpie brain simply couldn't say no, because it's so stunningly beautiful. This Shimmer Body Oil comes in a glass bottle that has quite a luxe feel to it, and there is a gold cap that is easy to remove, and a pump that releases a small amount of product each time you press down on it. I also really appreciate that you can tell how much product is left in it, which means you can mourn the end of your bottle, or look forward to getting a new one - sunny side up AND down!

The oil itself glimmers and shimmers like there's no tomorrow, and the oil, much to my delight, is actually a dry oil. This is my favourite kind of oil, simply because it makes me feel like I'm not going to slide off my seat, or have it stain my clothes. I'm left with soft, moisturised skin that doesn't feel like an oil slick, and instead, has a very shimmer factor to it. This has a light coconut-vanilla scent, and aside from being lightweight and super fine on the skin, this is also vegan and cruelty free. I really love having this in the Winter, to emulate that Summer feel, but this is honestly good for a year round product.

To sum it up, this is like they captured Summer in a bottle, and not just Summer, but the best Summer of your youth, while you're still makeup free at the beach, aside from sunscreen and a slick of lip balm, without the insecurities about your beach body, you know, just the hit list moments. The boy crush who's also crushing on you in return, the first kiss, holding hands while laughing over an ice cream sundae, the warmth of the sun on your bronzed skin, with the salty scent of the sea in the breeze and your hair looking good with some waves and body to it. Catch a bit of Summer this Winter for around $70, depending on the retailer.
