Review: Manicare Sonic Mini Eye Wand
Ok. Ok, ok, ok, ok. I may have just discovered one of my favourite little tools yet, and I cannot wait to share this find with you! If I had to sum it up in just one word, it would be clever. The Sonic Mini Eye Wand is something that I can't just sit on, and I'm going to talk about it right now!
What on earth does this slightly naughty looking (come on, you know it's not just me!) device purport to do, and why am I raving about it?
This slim little eye wand combines sonic wave vibration with gentle heat to help massage and relax the under eye area, allowing for your skincare product to sink into the skin, enhancing the penetration of the product. The tip of the wand gets up to 40 degrees celsius, and only takes a minute to warm up. While it does need a AAA battery, it doesn't have an on switch that is immediately apparent. Instead, this is activated by smart touch technology, which means, that you need to have the tip pressed against your skin, while another part of you is touching the silver strip along the back.
Essentially, YOU close the circuit! How cool is that? It means that you're never going to pack it into your bag for a weekend getaway and find this drained of energy on the other side by accidentally leaving it on, or having it switch on by itself. That is just downright smart!
Don't just limit the use of it to your eye cream - this can also be used in conjunction with serums and other kinds of skincare. You can also consider using it also as a form of facial massage to help improve skin circulation. This has been designed to have an ergonomic handle, meaning that it fits more comfortably into your hand, allowing for better control when applying it to the delicate area under the eyes.
I love how it interacts with the skincare product, and that it almost feels like it causes a bit of (good) tingling to the skin. As you might have guessed, I also love the way it turns on and works - it's just clever beyond words for me! Overall, while it's not something that you might desperately need, I think you'll find it to be a useful additional step to your skincare routine.
This retails for $49.99 and can be found at Priceline, as well as online here. What do you think of smart touch technology? Is this something you'd add to your routine?
